hawk fb program headed to the bottom

I am way more concerned about the direction that ISU has been headed for the last two years. Iowa generally knows how to play defense, which usually is good enough to win close games. They will probably be much better than you think.

+100
Too many people worry about Iowa... I am worried about Iowa State. The Hawks will not be nearly as bad as some people want to believe and Iowa State (although improved or CPR is gone) will probably not be as good. Iowa State could lose the Hawk game this year. Iowa State has lost to UNI and North Dakota State very recently. No need pumping chests about the demise of Iowa. Let's rally around our Clones and hope we get the train back on the tracks.

Oh you forgot we beat iowa at Iowa again... and beat tole do who destroyed the team iowa about lost to the week before.

I'm pretty sure we can use it. NDSU would have handled iowa.

I dont think we can play the 'the schedule's gotten tougher, thats why we're worse' card when we're losing to the UNIs and NDSUs and KUs of the world.

And just because we survived realignment doesnt mean our football program improved as a result.

I'm also pretty sure people who say the schedule doesn't matter never played competitively in any sport in their lives.

That or the poster is just clueless.

The schedule matters but not for the argument being made in this thread. If we were TCOB against the easy teams and just struggling against our SOS, thatd be a great argument for it. But we struggle against everyone. We lost to Kansas. We've put up back to back losses to FCS teams (good teams at the FCS level, but no BCS school should ever lose to an FCS program, period). For us the only difference the schedule made was that we got beaten by more than we would have with a slightly easier schedule.

Iowa isnt anything special. We beat them in a rivalry game. Big deal, especially since the verdict pretty much is we both had crappy seasons. As for Toledo, who the hell cares about Toledo? Because they beat a Ball State team that kept it close with Iowa? Big deal. In that game and in others, while Iowa generally has close calls, partially due to their style of play that keeps all games close, even ones they should lose, they generally have TCOB against their FCS opponents, so im not sure i'd go out there saying that NDSU wouldve "handled" iowa. If youre going to play the transitive game you were with Toledo, Iowa also beat UNI who beat NDSU.

When all was said and done, the B1G was the better football conference than Big 12 last season.

Sad reality for you is that no matter how many times ISU beats Iowa, it's always viewed as an upset, justifiably or not. Perception = reality.

Who the hell cares? You do. Can't be selective and cite a good ndsu team a aporblem sign and then say wins over iowa don't really matter? Or tole do who was better than iowa?

Then you say the schedule doesn't matter? The difficulty of every game matters.

yeah playing Illinois is the equivalent of baylor. Or Minnesota to tcu...

get real. Pointing out specific losses and then saying each individual team strength is not important is well...... laughable.

This is why I posted the initial post. Lol.

Can you please cite the head to head games these teams played last year?

Lol. Oh you little brother hawk fans.

TCU destroyed minnesota.
isu over iowa at Iowa
w Virginia over maryland
Mich state came back to beat baylor

am I missing any? What's funny is those are supposed to be the best teams in the little ten.

Oh and perception and reality is iowa is bad and can't beat iowa state.

Hawk fans. I always get a chuckle out of their puffed out chests as they leave the stadium early from a loss.

OSU (#1 B1G) > TCU (#1 Big 12)
MSU (#2 B1G) > Baylor (#2 Big 12)
Wisconsin (#3 B1G) > KSU (#3 Big 12)
Nebraska (#4 B1G) > Oklahoma (#4 Big 12)
Minnesota (#5 B1G) > Texas (#5 Big 12)

Just going by national championships, bowl game results, and rankings. That's half of your conference that's objectively and universally recognized as lesser than its counterpart in the B1G.

But I love that part of your rationale that the Big 12 was better was that Michigan St. came back to beat Baylor. Brilliant.

The OP is either:

A. troll
B. 12 years old
C. mentally challenged

I'm guessing a combination of A and either B or C. Hell, could be all three.

Lol is this hawk fan ratings lol..
oh my goodness...thanks for the laugh

Can you please cite the the bottom 6 ratings for the little 14.

isu over iowa. Where did iowa finish again?

My goodness..thanks for the laugh
I see you had no response to the facts I posted.

See you in ames. Too funny. Down goes the hawk program.

Seriously this post need so be pinned somewhere.

Nonfactts by hawk nation. Where fantasy is losing and yet winning.

BTW Tennessee just scored again.

If your going by NC dipsh t you should probably disregard Nebtard. They haven't been sqaut since the Big 8, which is a long time ago and has nothing to do with the B10.

You're awesome. You need to post here more often. There's been very, very little over the past few years that's given me hope as an Iowa football fan. But with you, all of that goes away.

So true. I can't believe people are still yapping about SOS when they compare us to Iowa. Nothing I have seen from ISU the last 2 years says we would do any better with a weaker B10 schedule. Just mean we probably would have had a few more heart breaking losses. The best I would have seen us do with Iowa's schedule last year, would have maybe put us at 4 wins. The schedule argument only holds true for teams like TCU or Baylor who could use that against a team like tOSU and say with an easier schedule, they might not have lost.

I don't agree that it's always viewed as an upset. It may have been that way a decade ago but not anymore. Nobody outside of the state cares about the game and pretty much everyone in the state knows Iowa isn't a good program anymore.

When ISU finishes sub .500 which is nearly every year, and Iowa is playing in decent bowl games, sorry, but everyone outside of Ames and Cyclone Nation sees it as an upset. I do agree that nobody outside of the state really cares though.

Lol this keeps getting bette.r...so eliminate the rest of the nation and cyclon fans.

That leaves hawk fans. Yes u can see where stupid hawk fans think losing to the same team over and over is an upset.

They aren't very smart after all. Too funny.
