All I’m saying is that Niang’s senior year, ISU had 5(!) other guys that made NBA rosters at some point. Cant say the same for Luka.
It's very true that ISU had some loaded rosters then, there were guys like Clyburn and Ejim who didn't make the NBA who still dominated the college game on top of the 12 or so players who played in the NBA or had a cup of coffee in that era...not all 12 played with Niang but most did (probably played with 6-7 total).
I will say though that Iowa runs its entire offense through Luka...understandably. ISU's game plan was never...get the ball to Niang. With Fizer the game plan was definitely to get Fizer the ball in the paint. Iowa has a career starter whose job is to basically never shoot the ball, nobody would have ever started for ISU in that era who couldn't and wouldn't go get their own shot and own points.
