13-day gap between non-con and conference play... This is incompetence by our administrators, completely unacceptable.

Concerns for injury, lack of rhythm having 2 weeks off from games, and adding another win to your tournament resume come to mind first and foremost.

If we miss the tournament by having only 17 wins instead of 18. This will be the reason.

That is an I'll informed opinion. The committee has proven again and again that the win total is not important outside of its relationship to the net and SOR. They're only requirement is that you be above .500. They have put serious consideration on 16-15 teams from a dominant conference like the Big XII has been for the last few years.

You do realize that for the privilege of stomping on Western Michigan's throat our net GOT 5 SPOTS WORSE. What makes you think Omaha was going to improve that situation.

I actually believe that not playing this game will help our argument in the end. Now you have your opinion and I have mine but to say our administration is incompetent it flat out dumb. It's not as bad of a decision for the resume as you and some of these whiners think it is and I guarantee you that the resume at ISU will always come second to player safety and quality of life.

I'm as disappointed as anyone else but for MY UNIVERSITY if ever the money and tournament ever means more than our players, I am out.

I'm a little late to the party... or lack there of. This sucks. Finally back in Iowa with family and everything worked out to go to this game. Buy tickets from another Fanatic and this happens. Typical.

When stuff like this happens I do feel bad for kids and others that this was maybe their first game or a gift.

My first ISU game was a surprise over winter break....etched in my memory.

Canceling the game is reasonable.

More than anything else, I wish the game was played for Tre King's sake.
That and so I could watch (or listen) while stranded in the house during the blizzard!

I'll disagree with this at least TJ's team was trying hard on defense last yrs team was was just offensively challenged many times last yr. Prohm's team in those games never played as a team at all and certainly didn't give sustained defensive effort. The only game I've been really disappointed in so far in TJ's tenure is this yrs Iowa game didn't think we would get rolled like that, but the women did the exact same thing still a little confused why both teams did so poorly in I.C. this yr. Wouldn't be afraid to play them again but disappointed in what went down.

It's actually good by the A.D. to reimburse the single game ticket fans. Lots of those tickets are family Christmas presents it's fun lower level seating for a lot of those kids great way to build up positive impressions of ISU. Season tkt holders know that basically it is just a donation to the athletic department sure we get to go to the games but the dollars lost on a game cancellation to us is just a cost of doing business.

It clearly shouldnt be the biggest factor, but the fact is that psychologically, 16 vs 17 vs 18 is still a factor in the eyes of the committee.

Yeah that were extremely cheap all things considered so it's not a big deal. And good seats so I'd def buy them again given the chance. Just really wanted to see the 'Clones in person more than anything haha.

davenport is probably a further drive from dsm than ames is to omaha? no? the same?

main difference, I guess, is one would have to go back west towards/into storm whereas the other is going away before it even hits.
