Friday OT - Names

All day long I've had snippets of a song running through my head but couldn't come up with it. Finally called hubby to get the name from him (that's only fair, since he's always calling me to find out who starred in a movie or tv show or something like that...).

Or you could go with the guy who used the most sappy line ever found in a movie...

"Love means never having to say you're sorry"...

You could also substitute "BS" for "sappy"

I also like jack for a boy's name.


Not a fan of mine since it's one that was easy to make fun of in school. I'd rather have my middle name as a first name which is Michael.

As far as future children, I like Natalie for a girl. (my friends think that's only because I drank Natty all thru college, but I swear that's not the reason)

There was usually at least 1 other in my classes with the same name. I don't really love it or hate it. I've always gone by Zach, which is where frustration came in.

Didn't really like teachers calling me by the full version (even when they would ask if I go by that or Zach). It's also sometimes a struggle to determine if a form is 'official' enough to warrant using the full version. Even on ones I do, I've still always used Zach for the signature..

Zach is on our list of future baby names, but now that I know that's your name.............:jimlad:

Husband's last name is the German spelling of a common men's first name, so he'll get called by his last name fairly often. So he and any of our sons will likely enjoy a lifetime of being called by their last name.

Both my son's have two middle names. We couldn't decide on my first son's, so we used the two we liked, then continued the trend for our second.

I do wonder if it'll mess up forms for them in the future, though by then we should all have identity chips in our arms or something.

People willl give you/them when their name is said. Other than that, it is too difficult, just weird being different than everyone else.
 
We had an exchange student from Germany that had a total of five (first name, three middle names, last name). Most of his time here, people butchered his last name, but God bless the principal at his school - that man phonetically memorized all five names and got them absolutely perfect at graduation. Hockey was beaming from ear to ear when he took his diploma (Hockey was one of the mispronunciations of his last name...it kinda stuck).
 
I don't care if people keep names secret but I hate when they make a big production out of it. When my wife and I decided the names, we would tell people if they asked. Didnt have a stupid name reveal party on Facebook and YouTube. I like old fashion names and my son's names are Jack and Drew. Jack is my dad and grandfather's name so it was special to me
