Friday OT #1 - That Funny Old Feeling

White Castle. Wrecks me, but every once in a while I get the itch.

When I was in college I had two and they were terrible every time but we kept going back every 6-12 months:
1. KFC Buffet on Lincoln Way across from East Hyvee
2. Golden Corral in Boone. Looks like it's Saints Avenue Cafe now.

For me it was morel mushrooms.

I really liked them but one time right before a road trip to Chicago we had them and I got violently sick on the road. I couldn't eat them for years - or even smell them.

I finally tried them some years later and immediately was queasy. I got so I could eat just a couple.

Finally I thought I could eat them and had maybe five pieces. I got nauseated and was bound and determined that I wasn't going to throw up. That was the worst mistake I have ever made. I was in so much pain for several hours.

I have come to the realization that I am allergic to them and can never eat them again. :(

I'd say the best thing I can think of would be a beef rib roast. Not because I couldn't make it more often throughout the year, but because during the holiday times it just feels right to make.

KFC comes to mind.

About once a year or so I decide I want a couple of those snacker sandwiches. And then remember why I only get them once a year.
