The only sellout streak I really believe is Memorial in Lincoln - they'll hit 300 in a row this fall. 300!!! I've been to both Kinnick and Memorial during the current "streaks" and I don't think there's even a comparison. That said, we have a streak of, what, zero sellouts in a row?
Keep in mind guys, as a season ticket holder and CC member - you're paying for the SEAT every bit as much as you're paying for entrance to the game.
I'm not sure that these seats are all that great - or that you'd get the same one from game to game. I believe the Applebees packs last year were limited to the southern most two or three sections.
You probably can make an arguement on getting the two packs and no CC membership, to perhaps a Varsity or Century CC member. But it's really apples to oranges when you start looking at 250 or above.

There have been claims on here by some that Applebees pack seats were sprinkled around in as high up as $500 donor sections. I know for a fact they were in a $250 section, which is where my family is at.
Besides, there really isn't a bad seat in Jack Trice.
Well that's a failure because we tend to get 48k... Going to the non-single game policy had the assumption that demand for season tickets would grow. We've had high years, but I'm willing to bet each of the last 2 years have been less than the previous year.
You don't think there are finance people building pricing assumptions and modeling future revenue? I guarentee they were, and now that we've been moving in an opposite direction as the assumptions were, you gotta put butts in seats and try to get to that 45-50k amount.
I still can't believe people talk about bowling the endzone and having 60k seats. All that will happen is we'll have a stadium 70-80% full on average...
That is true. I looked into getting some and they were better seats than I had expected. Many were in the $250 and $500 sections.
We had a record season ticket mark 2 years ago - largely in part to the hostage taking of the iowa game (again, I wasn't so much opposed to it, but let's call it what it is). But I think almost as much was the excitement of a new era and the hiring of Chiz-zle.
IMO, the same policy didn't go over that well last year for NU. IIRC - we fell down considerably and totalled in the low 30's, if that (depends what you consider a ticket - that old debate). And looks to be going over even worse this year with the iowa game again - otherwise, why offer it in a pack?
I can see the arguement of butts in seats = concession revenue. I just think there's better ways of doing that than taking the biggest game of the year away from ISU fans and putting them directly on the market for anyone to get. I'd rather see ISU CC members gobble them up at $80 or whatever the price is, and then run other promos for cheaper tickets for high schoolers or whatever, say $10 game - then have the same net income and get those same butts in the seats.
Then something changed mid-stream in that promotion because when I looked, they had defined sections and they weren't anywhere near higher donor levels.
Edit: Nevermind - I may be confusing the Applebees promotion with Cys-Packs. Although I did look at getting one of the Applebees for my wife, and I could swear there was some sort of seating restriction "defined"

If Iowa is included in a 3 pack, i'd be surprised. If they are why not raise that pack(if you choose that game) for Iowa to 125 or more? It'll discourage enough of them to buy and still fill seats for some other games after ebay and such.
Regardless of how these are sold, Ive enjoyed a decline in hawk/husker fans in the jack these last few seasons.

If selling out = every SEAT being full, then we've sold out 2 years running. I assume you're saying that our ticket sales have been over 45K for every game the past two years? That would include hillside tickets, which don't count as a seat in your scenario. Many people who sit on the hillside may not be willing to pay for a normally priced ticket (which includes many young children).
Has there been a single game in the past two years (not including Iowa 2007) that you could not go up to the ticket office on gameday and buy an actual seat ticket? I don't think so...
Did any of you that are posting in this thread get the letter about Iowa sending back the remainder of their ticket allotment for the ISU game because they didn't sell all of them? Or does that letter just go to NCC members?
So the talk of Iowa fans buying ISU minipacks for $99 just to get a ticket to the Iowa game is premature since not even Iowa donors want to pay the $90. It's looking good for a pretty much all ISU crowd for that game.

Here in lays my problem w/claiming we have 55,000 capacity. I think as long people keep coming up to the box office, we'll sell tickets and let them scrap it out on the hillsides. I know at that UNI game in 2007 that a LOT of people couldn't see the game. We need to call it 45,000 w/indefinite standing room. I don't see Pollard turning away $, do you? I'm not sure there's a conceivable point where they would turn people away.

When the bowling is completed, I believe capacity is going to be like 53,000 with 6,000 in the lower bowl and 2,000 in the upper bowl (because it doesn't connect the concourses). That's a good spot to cap it, imo. Then sell seats in that upper endzone at the Hillside price, and not let people on the north hills.

I wonder if some of it is based upon how many people the fire marshall will let it? I think that bars are what, 9 sq ft=1 person? Maybe sporting events have their own formulas using seats and standing area?
