Stanley is fortunate his career began when Iowa State had hit rock bottom and is getting out while they're finding their stride. We all know the Cyclones should've won that game last fall.
I'm not glad he's gone. Obviously the Oregon State kid is going to suck but Hogan could end up being good. With Stanley you knew he wasn't going to be good at least
no holding call on Iowa's 3rd and 22 conversion that leads to a field goal, then a phantom holding call against ISU (the only one the entire game) that negates a PI on Iowa that would have iced the game for ISU.... the muffed punt return never even should have happened. Iowa got handed a win on a gift wrapped silver platter last season...
this just got air mailed over their heads, probably landed some where near herkeys left nut (stanleys most accurate pass in his career).
The biggest gift of that game was the one Brock let slip from his grasp as ISU was about to put the game in a stranglehold. Its a clear flaw that keeps rearing its head for Brock in big games. If he can stop turning it over, he might have a football career after school like Nate will.
like the stanley air mail?? stanley will have an ok career holding the clipboard for a few years. how does it feel that a sophomore put up better numbers all around then your senior QB ever did?
would be 14-13 ISU still at that point if Iowa doesn't get that 3rd FG off the non call holding on 3rd and 22
and this does't happen without the phantom holding on ISU that cancels the PI on Iowa.
Iowa had luck and the refs on their side that game.. the one holding call all game just so happens to cancel a PI that would have set ISU up in FG range with less then 2 min left..
