I can't believe all the whiney fans after a couple of losses with a first year head coach. I don't like losing anymore than anyone, but if you want to go to the top, you have to take your lumps. And you have to stay positive.
Look at where we were headed:
-recruiting was terrible, in the 70-80's nationwide
-we could have lost all the games last year, we got lucky to win a few
-fan interest would have been non existant for this year
-we would have NO FANS, NO HOPE....
You want a winning program, stay positive and supportive for Iowa State. Second guessing the coach is part of any sport, but to give up the ship after two games is crazy. If you don't like it, go to the Uni-Dome and watch UNI play. But I predict, once we start winning you'll be back.

I can deal with losing, I just don't like getting waxed at home. ISU football on the field has provided very few enjoyable moments this year. I can't blame people for being upset.

ISU football on the field has provided very few enjoyable moments ever. Why people are shocked is beyond me.

Patience is a virtue.

I'd be in favor of CF getting shut down for a full 24 hours following every loss.

Just sayin'...

With our schedule, that could be a lot of days. But we know we'll have to take our lumps this season. Next year, South Dakota State is on the schedule, and we get rid of the tough South schedule. The days will get brighter.

I agree, the fans in my area really have stunned me this year. From the ones that are ready for a new coach to the ones that have shown their ignorance of football if possible exceeds that of hawkeye fans. The fans more than the performance on the field has made JTS an unpleasant place to be.

The good news - the team will come around, Chizik will get these guys better and will bring in the players that allow us to win

The bad news - I am stuck with these knuckleheads in JTS win or lose

As far as I'm concerned, I still have 5 unused tickets sitting on my desk, and I don't intend to waste them. I refuse to abandon this team.

Quite frankly the complaints will continue till we win a few. last year we won four early and we were grateful. This year we had essentially same talent and have underperformed. UNI was not that big a mountain to climb.

When you lose to a MAC team wgho gets beat by 5 TDs the next week, and then to Div !-AA no matter who that revved up to beart Minnesoata Stat 41-14 last week, you are not carry9ing your water in Div 1. Just not. No excuses. Just not hauling the hogs to market at the right time.

I think Michigan has a bigger gripe, but would the Big ten take us now? We are an embarrassment for the Big 12 at this point.

I had higher hopes for basketball last year, but we certainly stuggled.

Maybe it is all about recruiting for ISU. We need coaches who can get 3 and 4 stars in the door. Days of 2 stars dictate them to a support role. The recruiting evaluators are much better than in the past. Yes Wesley Johnson was a diamond in the ruff. But fewer diamonds are out there all the time.

To shut down CF for a day would be to shut down what is the best about CF.

I tend to agree although I think it might cause more idiots to call the post game show.

Actually people booing are Bret are reprehensible. These are still kids and going to college. I hope nobody is booing already. Yet I heard some in the 4th quarter. These are just kids. Bret needs the support. Maybe he will be glad to go on the road to play.

Fans that BOO their team for ANY reason are not fans and can keep their ignorance and disrespect at home. These are kids, "working" more hours in a week on their football game to spend their saturday night out bustin' their butt for our enjoyment than most of us work in 2 weeks. Oh, but some of the lucky ones get a "free" education out of it; as if they had time to maximize their learning in the classroom as well. Think of who you are really booing next time you so ignorantly blurt out your ridiculous opinion in the form of a BOO.

Funny people are getting rid of their tickets... and I'm planning to buy 2 more tomorrow... for road games no less!

I never understand booing college kids, or any amateur athletes for that matter. They're trying as hard as they can. I doubt the college scholarship averages out to much per hour for all the time they put in. Then you factor in risk of injury and if not injured always being a little banged up at least.

Now, all that said, I don't think the booing is usually for an individual player, but more often for the coach taking a knee to end the half and stuff like that.

Ditto wesley_w, really upsets me.

To the point where I got on some neighboring fans for booing the team. It'll be a long season in the stands now...oh well.

I don't lie, the same idiotic couple that was booing shortly after said (she asked him) "We should put the back-up in, is it still Chris Love?".

I wish it was legal to take away the tickets of others.

We need a facepalm smiley.

I'm not kidding.

It got somewhat not pretty, some just have no concept for what this season is about, just how bad we were last year and how far we have to go.

That needed to be said. It shouldn't have to be said, given the situation. I felt sorry for the hosts of the call in shows.

couldn't agree more. my section sat on their a$$ for the entire game except for myself, my wife, and another young couple a row ahead of us. then someone behind me is ******** about not being able to see and starts telling me to sit down. buddy, get off your a$$ if you can't see, or go back to the parking lot if you don't care enough to see around me to stand up. not my responsibility to ensure everyone around me can see and hear the game. i am not going to sit and i am going to make noise, win or lose. if you don't like it, tough $h!+

What does a consumer normally do when they have been handed a substandard product?

We have every right to be upset with the product. Chizik is being paid a lot of money to improve the product. So far, I can't imagine that we would have fared any worse regardless of who was coaching this team.

Will Chizik bring in better players? Will he succeed in improving the product? I don't know and neither does anyone else. Having said that I agree that giving up the ship after two games is crazy. Patience can be a virtue but we will need to eventually see some positive results.

i think that everyone who is anti-chizik right now is the same contingent that was content to just let mac continue to drag this program down. they are upset that we have a new coach and are seeing the same results. hate to stereotype but they probably don't have enough football knowledge to see that nobody short of bill walsh would have us where we all want to be right now. we say give it time, you say we've been waiting for 30 years. wait a couple of more and continue to by in to this program because that truly is the only way it is going to happen.
