I hear what you're saying, but wouldn't all these schools (who've previously wanted to join the Big12) have been beating down our door when they heard OU and UT were leaving? They would have known that it would be the perfect time for the conference to make some additions, but we did not hear anything. I think that simple fact speaks volumes.
How do you know this? There have been zero official reports of Iowa State reaching out to the B1G but we can be sure that has happened. I would be surprised if Cincy, UCF etc. haven’t put out Big 12 feelers as well, because as the other poster said, the Big 12 is still a clearly superior option to the AAC. Especially so when there’s a real chance of the top AAC schools leaving for the B12, so if you as an AAC school decide not to go, you get left behind in a very weakened league.
