Pretty sure both her and his parents are still in town, correct? Not going all stalker, because if he's canned I could see him either moving back to Ames or Chaska. Why do some people think we would want him as an AD? Also why would he want to? Check Jaimie Pollards salary, it’s peanuts comparatively.
I don't think I'd negotiate down that low, but yeah, I'd go along with something like that plan.Nebraska is pretty bad. I'm not sure why Fred didn't just embrace the space and pace, no defense system like he had at ISU. At the very least, you win some home games. They're not a good shooting team. You'd think that he would learn from his time with the Bulls since he has full control of the roster in college. He didn't win there with limited offensive skill. If I were him, I'd negotiate the buyout, take $5M and go find an assistant GM job in the NBA.
Recruiting isn’t their issue right now. Their last 2 classes were rated higher than ours. Nebraska’s biggest issue is Fred’s coaching. He didn’t hire a good assistant in that regard and that’s going to be his downfall at Nebraska.Nebraska blew the hire when they hired Fred. They needed a coach that could recruit, not a coach that admits to hating recruiting.
The B10 will be swimming in even more TV money shortly. Fred should hold out for every contractually obligated penny. Not his fault the Neb ADs are idiots.

Grass is not always greener. I’m surprised as wellI didn’t think he’d turn them around when he got there but I never thought they’d be this bad for so long.
If/when Fred gets let go, does anyone see him coaching college or NBA again?
I know that the Timberwolves wanted him badly but Fred signed a new contract instead and they put Flip in for his second stint. Considering the turnover in the head coaching position in Minneapolis after that he probably would have had plenty of chances for that T-Wolves job. Not that the job was any better than the Bulls, but he was considered a "native son" in the Twin Cities. He had a cardiac episode his last year at Iowa State.
He had already interviewed for several other jobs, and was not selected. It took a personal relationship with foreman to get him the chance. He wasn’t going to let that one go by, and wait for a chance that mIght not have happened.
After his stint in Chicago, he most certainly won’t get another chance. When your star player calls you out, every other franchise recognizes it, and will not hire you.
That’s not even taking into consideration reviews of his coaching, which was brutal
Since they have the 18th worst D in all of college BB and worst major program, I'd say he has.Nebraska is pretty bad. I hope our current coaches don't read all this trash on CF bashing a former head coach who gave us the best run in ISU basketball history.
I'm pretty sure there are Nebraska fans posting that they hope Fred dies. I am a "careful what you post" kind of guy but what is on here isn't bad by a lot of message boards' standards.I hope we don't have coaches that give a crap about what we share on a fan board.

Yeah, to make it work you have to have six or seven who fit that system. At least 3 guards, 3 posts and one more of either. Best case scenario is you have 3 starting guards with at least two of them around 6-6 who can drive and shoot from outside. Fred has a few pieces but it falls way off after those. From what I've seen it's about the same style just with much worse players.

i don’t know why Fred doesn’t go in to NBA/NCAA broadcasting. He’s like ESPN’s wet dream for either sport. Plus if he does college games he doesn’t even have to leave his home. I personally think he’d be really good in the Urban Meyer BTN role just for basketball.
