I've heard ISU fans say that about Ogelsby too but I know him personally and know he's a good official. He should be investigated for gambling on games. Every single game he refs is complete ********.

I think the combo of the recent Tech debacle, the WV missed layup and frustration with refs in that game, combined with a horrible performance against OSU made him snap. Who knows what that punk Asbery said to him. But yes, what Grill did is the same kind of crap we hate about the McCaffreys.Grill is better than that. And needs to be going forward.
Might not be the worst thing again this year TBHsince we got bounced in the first round of the Big 12 tournament, our guys came into the NCAAs fresh
I appreciate the observation and insight. Perhaps he was just having an off day. I think sometimes we forget that refs are human and can have outside things in their life affect behavior and performance. I have no idea if that is the case but I don’t think any of us are on top of things everyday.Let me start by saying we did not lose this game because of the refs. We got out played, out coached and out hustled. Terrible. That being said, Doug sirmens was really strange tonight. I have seen him do so many games at Hilton and he has never acted like this. He was chippy and short with people all night. At one point he came to the scorers table and screamed at the guys keeping track of timeouts I think. It was very odd. I got the vibe the other 2 refs were not liking his demeanor either.
They stopped the freaking game again for an injured opponent when we had the ball. I’m not sure what game you guys were watching that thought that was well officiated. Far from the worst we’ve seen but not well officiated by any means.

John and Eric were commenting on his demeanor throughout the game on the radio broadcast. At one point I guess he was defending a call that Amy (the female ref) made, and I think it was John said something like "let Amy defend her own call, I'm not sure why Doug feels like he needs to do it for her."Let me start by saying we did not lose this game because of the refs. No need to ban the cry about the refs comments- the majority of our fans have done a good job of calling these posts out…that’s more telling than banning it.I propose an instant perm ban for every ref post after a game. Especially this one. It was probably the most evenly called game all year.
I was disappointed in the fans tonight. We are in the hunt for a conference title and the fans only came to their feet once the whole game. The upper deck student section was mostly empty. It was not a magical atmosphere last night.
Injury status has nothing to do with attitude…that’s what’s being criticized here. It’s almost like Grill is playing through an injury, like I don’t know, a bad back or something. Really strange.
I didn't think the crowd was too bad. The team was lethargic all night. In not saying that to blame them because they usually play their butts off. Just hope it was an off night and we get back to our style soon.I was disappointed in the fans tonight. I couldn't get a gauge at all last night on what was a flop/charge/block.One other thing on Sirmens. I was sitting right behind okie st bench and in the 2nd half there was a blocking foul called on the cowboys and Boynton was yelling it was a charge. As our player was actually shooting the free throw sirmens walked towards him and yelled no it wasn't Mike it was a total flop. If it was a flop Doug isn't that a T? Very strange last night.
This was my main complaint about the officiating. You just had no idea. I was wrong at guessing the call 80% of the time when I usually get it right about 80% of the time. I also thought the cowboys got away with 2 travels late in the game as well. Missing the front end of the one and bonus four times plus sub 50% free throw shooting was the difference though.I couldn't get a gauge at all last night on what was a flop/charge/block.

Once Iowa State stopped their fast break/secondary break that’s when play can be stopped. If the didn’t pull the ball back and start running a set, they may not have stopped play.
Art. 6. Suspends play immediately when necessary to protect an injured player. In determining whether to stop play under this Article 6 or Article 7 below, when either an offensive or defensive player appears to be injured, officials should always give priority to protecting the injured player by stopping the game immediately when the health or safety of the player appears to be at issue.
Art. 7. Suspends play after the ball is dead or controlled by the injured player’s team or when the opponents complete a play after an opposing player is injured.
a) A play shall be completed when a team withholds the ball from play by ceasing to attempt to score or advance the ball to a scoring position.
At least on TV it looked like a 4-6" pool of blood on the court from the hit to his face. They stopped the freaking game again for an injured opponent when we had the ball. Yes, I can see the disparity of calls and the bad calls at WV. To carry that over to this game doesn't make any sense. It seemed to me that the reason we lost the OSU game is we didn't play well enough. It wasn't the refs. The refs from the WVU game deserve every shred of criticism they got. There were some iffy calls tonight but you will get that in just about every single game in the history of basketball. Fact of the matter is if you miss more free throws than you make, you don't ever deserve to win a basketball game. Pathetic display of something that is 90% mental
