Does HCMC need a OC to call plays?

Campbell seems to be a guy who, does what is right. One part of that is not being a douchecanoe and running up scores. You may totally dislike that other coach, but you have to remember that there are 85 or so 18-23 year olds that you are teaching what is right with you and against you. I have seen it too many times in HS where coaches will run it up on one another due to the other coach and not account for the players (who are even younger) perception of what that means.

I was just thinking the hoks lol

We were more than 10 spots higher in our S&P ranking. This offense isn't better. Campbells first year offense was worlds better than the past two years. This is a really weird deal.
Better OL, and Lanning, for all his flaws as a passer, extended drives. Park was really talented too, and our skill position talent wasn’t too different than now. Plus a conference not as familiar with what we want to do.

For the last time - Gordon and Gasser have been the play callers and the offensive staff has worked together to build game plans. Campbell has input.

First, that doesn't change anything I said and second, it's not true.

Also, if you have 2+ playcallers, you don't have 1.

At this point you just need to accept that’s how the head coach wants to do things. He gets to decide how to run his program. If it doesn’t work, he’ll get fired. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not.

And what does that have to do with our offense this season? All the numbers show it was putrid. If we can count on our defense every year, great, but I'm not sure that we can. It's not fair to that side of the ball.

Wait, all the numbers show it was putrid? As in every single number and metric? Come on, really?

True. And no one gives a crap if Tre will accept it or not. Some of the posts just make you shake your head in derision.

I'm fully aware what I think doesn't matter and I accept that's how he will run things.

It's funny how some dissension from Campbell is treated relative to Prohm. It's an interesting thing, really.

I don’t treat them any different.

I think there’s a difference in questioning s coaching decision (i.e. I’ve always questioned why Campbell didn’t play Lanning in the West Virginia game his first year) and questioning a coaching philosophy.

Yeah, the former is an emotional overreaction to a rather irrelevant detail and a rational football discussion based several seasons of data.

But the second thing is what we hired. You have to take the good with the bad.

Exactly his point. Like I said, you’re supporting his contention.

Not really because whether we slap a title on one of our guys or hire someone from the outside it's going to be done the same way - with input from everyone. Campbell is not bringing someone in to "run with" the offense the way he lets Heacock "run with" the defense.

The whole OC argument reminds me of the Tommy Boy guarantee scene. Substitute OC for guarantee

Tre, why do you have two usernames?
