Discipline and focus

A little humility perhaps, not so much in your face after every play. Not to mention undue celebration after every play. It's not an individual sport, but rather a team concept...............you know; no "I" in team!

Bull. It is what you do and it's obvious. You are trying to compare what GC did to what CPR did. Well every ISU fan but you knows that CPR is 10X better at the job here at ISU than GC was.
It's not comparable, CPR is in his third year. GC was only here two years and started with a different quality of player. It's not a fair or logical comparison, so I would not do that. My point is we need focus and discipline and this emotional family crap is clearly not working. 4 games of exactly the same problems is more than a trend. And you really should try to calm down.

Also: Nick Fairley. That ***** played every snap he could. If you want to talk about our team right now, that's fine but don't use GC as some sort of standard for integrity in handling players and attitude issues.

and I think after 4 games it's clear we have a serious and perhaps non-correctable problem. BUT I hope you are right.
What 'correctable' problems did Jean fix for us?

He's(jean) a sanctimonious punk *** ***** that is no longer here. He ****ed ISU and its fans as if we were his two dollar *****. You got the conference realignment thing right=congrats. You are as wrong as can be about speaking in this way about a coach(Paul) that loves this school. He makes mistakes as coaches do, but he has a moral code that jean will never have and has more wins than jean ever dreamed of seeing at isu.

***to be clear i am spelling Jean's name incorrectly because he is a ********

We had a 20-0 lead on TTU in the 2nd quarter last year. We were beating UT 14-3 at half. We won both of those games.
I'd like to see the average number of points in our (and our opponents) first 2 or 3 drives of the game in the last 3 years. Awful.

Jumping Jesus! Scoreboard! Hawks were winning on 9/10- after three drives. Get a grip.

Who cares? We win games don't we and I would venture to guess those numbers aren't much different than the 2 prior years. The difference the team comes out of the locker room in the second half and doesn't let Kansas come back from 20-0 to beat us. We are better now than we were then, especially when it counts.

Jesus Rebacacy we lose one game to Texas and you want to bring GC up again. This story is getting old.

Chizik's teams were not especially disciplined and focused. Still aren't. You're an idiot.
Back to the topic AAC, a third of the way thru CPR's 3rd year we sit at #119th in penalty yards against and #118 in turnovers. We just got smoked by a team that was pretty much even with us in talent. We have already played the crap teams this year. We have big problems.

And stop with the personal attacks please.

Everyone knows these are HUGE issues. I trust CPR to get it fixed, implying this crap wouldn't happen under Chizzlestick is absurd.

We'd be 0-4 with chizzle****.

Get off your knees for Chizik. It's old and tiresome.

And we will never know what would have happened in year three. But it's clear to me that CPR teams= never......and I mean never starts fast in any game. In a third of the way thru CPR's 3rd year we sit at #119th in penalty yards against and #118 in turnovers. Unless things change fast in the focus and discipline department we may beat Kansas. May.

I honestly never thought I'd see the emotion Rhoads has brought to this program made into a negative. Emotion is the reason we have been overachieving under CPR. Emotion is the reason opponents better not underestimate us.
What's next? There were too many fans in the stadium and that was a distraction to the players??:twitcy:

I'm not sure how to coach a football team but a whole lot more accountability (bench sitting) for all these mistakes might be helpful. Clear accountability works in other areas of life to improve focus and discipline. Players need to respect their coach not be their best friend.

You should just end your post right there. This is the only intelligent thing you've said this whole thread.

Yesterday's game is the necessary link to show the team what was going on in the first 3 (now 4) games will (and did) cost you games.

I see this being a positive motivator to get the dumb penalties and turnovers corrected.
But when does it stop? Its been a common occurrence the first 4 games, they had a bye week to work on the issues. Im not going over the edge like rebeccacy but it worries me a lot. The schedule is not getting easier and the fine line between success and failure is getting smaller with the level of competition and the number of injuries.

Too much emotion is a bad thing in both our coaches and players. We need some of the military approach in our coaching of this team. There is a reason GC did that "stupid thing" of making the players line up their helmets. Also, I can not believe that LJ was trotting out on the next series after an inexcusable personal foul. Sometimes "family" members need a swift kick in the ***.
I don't see why the #1 cornerback wouldn't be on the field.....
