Defensive Coordinator Possibilities?

Throw some bills and bring in Rufin McNeil. Assistant and HC experience. Surely he has enough connections around the country for recruiting. I'd be okay with this being his transition back into a HC job.

He brings a lot of fire and his defenses were always solid.

Switching back to the DC from Toledo, looks as though he was wanting to move to the 4-2-5 direction for next year there.

Maybe Campbell is going to be Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Defensive Coordinator/QB Coach/S Coach

Read a little on both of those guys, and from my seat either Ruffin or Grinch would be a great hire for us. Latter might seem more likely.
So you're saying its between:

Wonder if the new Toledo coach will try to get back some of MC coach announcements. Guessing that grad assistants are sending out all our new offers?

Anyone heard any new news on DC actual opitions yet? You think Coach is waiting to get both DC and OC after bowl games?

Something that adds more credence to Heacock to ISU is Toledo has started to announce some coaching staff hires and the only name that has been retained is the current RBs Coach. You would think if Heacock were staying something would have been announced by now. Here's a rundown of Toledo's current coaching staff - looking pretty thin:

Head Coach - Candle (Confirmed)
D- Coordinator - Heacock (Status unknown)
Running Backs - Anthony Johnson (Retained - announced on Footballscoop.com this morning)
TE/Special Teams - Gasser (WR Coach @ ISU - announced on Cyclones.com)
WR - Derek Sage (Status unknown)
DL - Eli Rasheed (Reported to come to ISU - no formal announcement
S&C - Rudy Wade (Reported to come to ISU - no formal announcement)
Dir. of Football Ops - Brabenec (Same position @ ISU - announced on Cyclones.com)

Toledo had the #51 ranked defense in yards/game. That is against the #86 schedule strength. Not that impressive. Also, Heacock is not popular. Campbell is going overboard in nepotism - and he will pay the price when he goes up against the Big12. You can't move the Toledo Rockets to the Big12 and succeed. That's what we're trying to do.

Can't find a OC post...but has any heard if Sturdy has actually Left? Honestly I could see him being QB coach or possibly Co-OC. The more I think about it the more it makes sense. First the offense generally got better under him and we wouldn't have to re learn an entirely new offense with all new calls and playbook. If we bring in an entirely new Oc with a whole new system there bound to be a big learning curve and I'm not sure this program can afford that given the expectations of getting to a bowl next year.
