Defensive Coordinator Possibilities?

Anyone think Burnham might be retained? His dad was a world class LBs coach, I think he could probably be the same.

Strange event at Georgia - 9-3 HC leaving. Jeremy Pruitt, defensive coordinator formerly at national champion Florida State might stay at Georgia, but if not he's likely the best out there. Likely, Campbell has this spot filled with someone who is still coaching.

If we are throwing out Tressel. Then why not throw out a few other big names. Miami can only hire 1 guy. If Miami goes Mark Richt, that leaves Greg Schiano and Butch Davis jobless and both would be excellent D Coordinators. Neither would be huge recruiters probably, but we have the young fiery coaches for that.

Jim Leavitt at Colorado.

Throw more money at him and he might want to return to Iowa.

I wouldn't be opposed to that, although the end of his tenure at South Florida left questions. Wally was also his DC, so he'd be likely to keep a lot of the same stuff. My guess is Campbell will go with pretty green blood based on his hires so far though.

Well if CMC takes all his current staff except OC, then so be it. Just hope it won't back fire on him. Or if things aren't working out hope he isn't super loyal and looks into his opitions sooner than later. So we can stay successful. I love this hires though. Just wanted someone with very rich Texas ties.

Ruffin McNeal was just fired by his alma mater East Carolina. Previous DC under Leach @ Tech. 43-34 as a HC.

With McNeill at the defensive helm, the Red Raiders' defense improved in every defensive category.[SUP][6][/SUP] Under Setencich, Tech ranked seventh in pass defense, ninth in total defense, and tenth in scoring defense in Big 12 Conference play. In nine games with McNeill, Tech improved to first in pass and total defense and fourth in scoring defense.[SUP][11][/SUP] The Red Raiders forced more punts and allowed fewer rushing and passing yards than they did to begin the season.[SUP][12][/SUP] These vast improvements in the defense led Leach to drop the interim tag and make McNeill the full-time defensive coordinator

Sounds like most of the staff at Mizzou will not be retained. The Defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski has ties to Toledo. This looks like a guy they should be going after.

That would be huge. Make him DL/DC. Make DK McDonald DB's, Veidt LB, Rasheed the DE's or OLB coach depending on if we keep 3-4 or go back to 4-3.

Isn't that kinda surprising? I mean if they hired Odom who was already at Mizzou, why wouldn't he be keeping some of the guys he worked with? If not, maybe he knows something, i.e. - maybe we shouldn't be so ready to jump on them. Just a thought, no insight.

Because they only won 5 games in a division that is suddenly up for grabs. If he makes the right staff changes now, Mizzou has the chance to be a Top 3 team in the SEC East

I wouldn't mind grabbing this guy, recruiting ties. Improved Techs defense, knows how to play in the league.

Where can I find a list of the current staff? it's been hard for me to keep up with these threads
