While we do have an outstanding engineering program, Iowa isn't really that far behind. This is from 2006 and ISU comes in 41st while Iowa is 52nd. So not a whole lot of difference to me. Has it come to this where we now bash high school kids? He will more than likely red-shirt his first year so that gives him two more years to develop and who knows what he will be like then as compared to now.

I attended both engineering colleges and conclude this is not a very credible list. The University of Iowa is a fine institution, but engineering is not one of their strong programs, certainly not by comparison to Iowa State University.

They can't help but have recruiting problems. KF has the look of a lame duck whether he stays or not. The damage is already done in my view. It's not always fair, but at 3 mil a year, he must understand the game. Recruits want continuity, not a coaching change. That is death in recruiting.

Reading earlier in this thread, he is already labeled as this years Blake Larson. Funny how so many of you change your opinion when he is no longer commited to the Darkside.

Then you need to learn how to read. There is only ONE poster who changed his opinion of Barrent, and that was after he committed to Iowa, not after he changed his committment.

I am sure you are correct. He probably lives in a cave in West Des Moines and has no clue what is going on over there.

Regardless, you do not see a lot of kids decommit this time of year and commit to another school right away. Who knows, he could be the next Blake Larsen and it will be a good thing for the hawks.

Eh, Riley Reiff did. So did Ford (twice). Reiff and Ford did about this time of year. If Iowa picks up 5 recruits this year, I'll agree that it has to do with the off-field problems. And I'm sure that those issues play a small role - but I'm guessing wins/losses play a much larger role, and Iowa has had more of the Ls than the Ws.
