By your logic, in 2002 ISU was better than Iowa. In 2007, 3-9 ISU was better than Iowa. Also, please help us find Iowa on the CFP committee rankings.
Did the two teams have identical records those years? Did Iowa almost lose to Drake those years?

Iowa State won 6 conference games. Playing everyone.
EIU won 5 conference games. In the B1G West. They lost to the ONLY decent B1G east team they played.
Didn't play tOSU. Didn't play Michigan. Didn't play Michigan State.
DID play Ped State. Loss.
DID play Wisconsin. Loss.
DID play Purdue and Northwestern. Loss. Loss.

Drakes offense put up 24 against our defense on the road. Iowa only could manage 13 at home. Yikes
Don’t forget our 2014 team that was 2-10 and better than Iowa cause 20-17 that year.
They care so little that 4 of them showed up immediately to trash talk. And the best they brought was “ISU played like trash and won”.
I think we have different opinions on what the term owned means.

Iowa was 4-4 in the Big 10. I agree though that an 0-9 Iowa State team in the Big 12 that year probably would have done better than 4-4 in the Little 10. Probably woulda finished in the top half of that conference at 5-3.
