I didn't vote because my choice wasn't there. YOu need a choice of "Apathy is starting to come, but ****** as hell that every time I come to CF there is another 5 ******* threads about the same coaching ****!!" Need someone to combine all the threads into one big festering mass.

I respect your opinion...but just a question...what kind of threads do you come here expecting during football season?

I'm with Janny. I rotate through pretty much all of the poll options depending on the day and my general mood...I spend longer time on some, less time on others, but my overall feeling right now is sadness...for the players, for the staff, for the fans.

If we're discouraged, disappointed and downright ****** off, you know the players & coaches have to be feeling much the same things. I'll continue to cheer for them because win or lose, they're my team.

I will be ****** off until a bowl game is out of the question then apathy will set in the rest of the year...

I'll watch, if I have nothing else to do. I can't remember the last time I yelled at the TV or got excited about a good play. It's just like watching any other college football team, almost like no dog in the fight anymore.

So, apathy for me.

My oldest daughter's first ISU game is this weekend. I've tried to prepare her for what it's going to be like, but I'm concerned for her fandom if it plays like I expect it to play.

I am only going to address the WINS grade. The fact that D is still above .500, and we are below that with the easiest portion of our schedule completed, I would say it deserves a big fat F.

So you're saying a 6-6 regular season with a bowl loss is a big fat F? It is < .500 after all. Good luck applying a class grading scale to cyclone football... No pleasing you I guess.

Ready to take some beatings.
Disappointed that we have more talent and it is not being fully utilized.
Unsure about the 12 yard cushions whether a 3 or 4 man line.
Still do not understand B12 refs and replay booth thought process.
Impressed with contributions by new talent and use of many players.
Wish Sam looked like he had better more aggressive body language and his passing hand was bigger.
Not sure why the three rush linemen could not be spread out wider to open a little more rush alley than they showed against TT.

Grade rating:
Wins - D
Effort - C+
Newcomers: - B+
Seniors - C-
Kicking - C
Offense - C-
Defense - B-
Team Potential - B
Coaching - C
Playcalling - C+
Overall - C

What do you guys think?

Maybe today. If we end up in the bottom 2 of the conference, F across the board.

While I was very disappointed with the 2-2 start, I wanted to see what they would do against Tech. I had a handful of reasons that I was still holding some sense of optimism that they would overcome their earlier hiccups and play better. By halftime, apathy is officially here for the rest of the year. TCU and Baylor up next helped push me along to that place.

I honestly don't think this is necessarily true in all cases. I'll bet some of these coaches don't care that much if we tank the entire rest of the season. Burnham Jr. won't be a DC here, Mangino Jr. won't be an OC here, Wally will retire, Mangino doesn't appear to GAF about much...

As far as being our team, yeah of course you're right and I'm never going to cheer against these kids but the beatings these kids have taken lately from UNI, NDSU, KU last year, Toledo, TTU...just no reason for it except PFL (that's Poor F***ing Leadership for you non military types).

I just don't care anymore. I don't read articles on ISU football, I'm not paying attention to stats, the fact that Mike Warren is tearing it up does not excite me, and after last week, I don't see myself watching a game the rest of the season.

Apathy. For the first time in my life I am more excited about High School Football on Friday Night. My nephew plays football for Anamosa and they're undefeated and 4th in the State. Plus they are really fun to watch play.

I get so angry watching Rhoads press conferences, always like

"hats off to University of ____ who played a great ball game. Well Randy, we got to start fast which we didnt do. I thought we we we showed tremendous fight and never gave up. Early in the first quarter when it was 21-7 we were definitely in the ball game but it got away from us the remaining 3 quarters. I am proud of our guys for not hanging their heads and fighting till the end and managing to score one last TD once the other teams 3rd string was in against our starting offense"

I hate Rhoads as a coach, please leave Iowa State you bum

Before the TTU game I was split with about 60% optimism and 40% apathy. The next 2 weeks I'll be rolling with about 80% apathy until the potentially winnable game against Texas where I'll dial up the excitement a smidge.

Just don't give a rip anymore, this coaching staff especially the head coach should not cash their ******* checks anymore this year.

Voted "apathy" but I think "disappointment" is closer.

Losing close games, again. Offense steps on it's own junk, again. Missing field goals, again.

Just disappointed. Again.

Is there a combination of apathy and pessimism? Like, I'm to the point that I'm not caring, but I'm also upset that I'm driven to not care at the same time.
