Or just own up to it. If TJ fails he's likely gone anyways. If he succeeds he looks like a genious

uh No. You aren't going to run off the most successful AD ISU has ever seen. In terms of money and facilities upgrades JP has earned leeway.

I understand the protocol, as should ISU. BUT if ISU did reach out to JH or his agents without permission. Wouldn't that be the first thing JH or his agents would tell them if he had interest in talking? "Thanks for the call, you must contact XYZ at the Suns."

I agree with the sentiment its sinking his contract negotiating strategy. But at any rate after Jeff's vocal comments last week to the media and radio listeners, a contact from ISU shouldn't surprise anyone at the Suns, nor a breached protocol stop the process, just reroute it to the proper channel .

Steve Kauffman • 18 minutes agoWe represent Jeff Hornacek. Rarely do I post but I
will simply say this story is inaccurate.
Jeff loves his alma mater and the facts are
simply wrong here.

Steve Kauffman Diane Henry• 12 minutes agoUnder contract is the key. School knew
they had to request permission in a certain manner
from the Phoenix Suns. I do not wish to allocate the blame
as to the parties at fault here. But it's a shame.

I'm guessing they were communicating improperly and this caught them at it so he had to refute it.

I like JP but I think this hire is make or break for him. Can't go 1 for whatever he is and not catch heat

[h=1]Jeff Hornacek's agent debunks rumor he's uninterested in Iowa State job[/h]
Ouch, that hurts to read.

So if someone other than TJ is our new head coach, what are the chances that TJ stays as assistant? I'm ok with TJ as coach or another better qualified person, but the thought of not having him on the staff at all next year scares me in terms of our current roster/current recruiting.

I know he was just brought in, but as an assistant to Fred. New coaches bring new assistants, right? Or would TJ staying be a caveat that JP insists upon?

Sorry, this has probably been addressed at length. I haven't seen that scenario discussed recently. TIA

I apologize if this has already been confirmed as pretty much common knowledge (I do think that a few people have mentioned him as a possible candidate), but I've heard from a very reliable source that Greg Lansing of Indiana State is one of those interested parties in the job who has already reached out to ISU. You can mock and criticize me all you want as I rarely am one to have any inside info and I know that, but in this case I do, and I it comes from someone very close and reliable.

Coaching search > Hoiberg watch. At least I don't have to have a drink before checking CF now.

Have there been any infuriating/entertaining full-blown meltdowns yet like those in the Hoiberg watch and rumor threads? I think the Hoiberg threads still hold the advantage.

So should CW revise/retract his original story? If so, does the original source(s) get identified because of the misinformation?

Agents talk to potential new teams all the time about a client that is under contract without any permission. I think the agent is just playing it trying to get the Suns to bite. Talking to an agent without permission of the current employer is common place.

This is gettin nuts! Was just getting over no HornBall and now I'm letting in just a little hope again.

So for people just tuning in, here is a recap in the last few hours:

1. Chris publishes article that Hornacek refused to meet with ISU and he wasn't interested in the opening.

2. Jeff Hornacek's agent (!!!) responds to Chris' article in the comments section (!!!) saying the story is inaccurate and basically that ISU didn't follow proper procedures.

3. Sporting News confirms that it was Hornacek's agent making the comments.

4. Lindsey Hunter's name has been floated out of no where.

5. CycloneFanatic erupts.
