I posted in the other thread that's it's pretty clear JP was headed to Detroit as a destination and not a connection. Campbell or Fleck or both seems likely. Maybe meeting with one/both after their game today. Trying to get this thing done by early next week ideally. (Not saying he will hire one of them, but that he is meeting with them today.)
Think we should hire guy who will **** AIB-Iowa City fans off the most. Either Les Miles or Brian Ferentz
Campbell is being targeted by Mizoo (per Football Scoop) - if offered I would assume he would pick Mizoo over ISU. This is what we will run into - so glad we are in the search and didn't wait.
Nearly all the openings were in the search before ISU. Mizoo knew ahead of us also. There was no advantage gained by firing Rhoads last Sunday. With that said, I think Mizzou has an advantage, IMO.
FWIW the Football Scoop report said that Campbell would accept the Missouri job if they offered.
Totally speculating here, but it might explain Pollard's trip to Detroit today. If they decided Campbell is their guy they might make him the offer today but with something of a short time horizon.
How would she know if JP is making a connection or not? Did she book the flight or follow him outside the airport, or did she say she asked him directly?
She said "Pollard was with associate AD David Harris and did confirm he's here on a coaching search. He didn't give me any names." I would assume the "he's here" part would be confirmation that Detroit was his destination.
