Classless Hawk fans....

Come on. This stuff happens in Ames and Iowa City. I've been embarassed for ISU fans in Ames many times for the way some treat Iowa fans. And I've been p'd at Iowa fans in Iowa City for the way some treat ISU fans. It's called a rivalry. As a previous poster said, get over it.

last time I was at Disney, I came across a family of hawk fans...we said we were ISU fans and they couldn't have been nicer...

From what I have personally witnessed, I would say its pretty even...

Personally from what Ive noticed over the past four years or so is that Cyclone fans in general are much more gracious losers than the Hawks. I say this because for my four years in college the home team has won each game and ive been to all four games. The ones in IC which we lose, ive noticed a lot of Cyclone fans either A)get out of town, B)accept defeat and party it up. On the other hand, in Ames in 2005 and 2007, i had many run-ins with hawkeye fans who would (even after losing to the"worthless" iowa state) continue to run their mouths instigating conflict with many cyclone fans, without any prodding from anyone.

This being said is just my observations but I continue to agree with the original poster on this one.

There will be none of that on this message board.

There are plenty of good and bad fans on both sides of the rivalry. It seems like there are more Hawk fans that are out to prove their poor sportsmanship, but that is probably just because I am an ISU fan and have been on the wrong side of this kind of stuff.

Also, I've seen Iowa fans take plenty of abuse in Ames. Especially after the last two games. We give it to them pretty bad, too.

How could Iowa fans have taken abuse after the 2005 game? They were all long gone by the time the 4th quarter started. :biglaugh:

The 2007 game was fun but didn't have the same feeling. In 2005 Iowa fans came in actually thinking their team was good. In 2007 it was obvious that they sucked. Still fun, but it didn't have the same impact.

Ketel... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I think Hawk fans are after you..

Wasn't it you that posted thread after thread about how heads were going to roll in Iowa City after the Alleged Rape Case??

I'd keep my head on a swivel for now on..

1. Guess I only assumed they were Hawk fans, probably because of all the food they had spilled on their blouses.
2. The trials haven't begun yet..although I assume money will change hands to keep anything from happening.

Tailgate lots/walking back to the apartments/houses of their friends who lived in Ames. A couple of my buddies who were Hawk fans walked all the way back to University Plains, getting stuff thrown at them the whole way. For the record, I didn't feel sorry for them. They talked a lot of **** the night/morning prior.

It wasn't obvious going into that game. They hadn't just lost to "4 dead in O-hi-o" and University of Nothing Important (just a joke UNI fans, I respect the place and have many good friends who went there) at home.

I think everyone is missing the point entirely. I understand what you're asking ketelmeister. This isn't about fans you've run into in Iowa City, or in the state in general for that matter. He was in Florida at Disney World. Ketelmeister I have had comments from Hawk fans around the country when wearing ISU gear. If I randomly run into someone wearing a EIU t-shirt somewhere I never talk to them or make a snide comment. I just quitely laugh at the shiny polyester clad broken-tooth trailer trash and smile knowingly at that their continued lifelong goal of a GED.

Last week I was at Disneyland dressed in a Iowa shirt, and a couple of 30ish women called me a loser. I just laughed and kept walking. classless clone fans....

See I can make things up to make the other fan base look bad also.

You assumed??? You only assumed they were Hawk fans no proof though???

Well.... That makes it a fact then... Just like all the people assumed you can get H1N1 through eating pork, or even being near a hog building.

Wow.... Sorry, I'm not a fan of the Hawks, but what is the point of this thread. Especially if you have no proof.

Like one of my high school teachers said... Assuming only makes an *** out of u and me.

Actually I was at Disneyland awhile back... ironic... but no I did not see any Hawk fans... just some people from a town close to ours
