Cheikna Dembele

The guy worked for the program and the day the Diallo/Yakwe news came out that we couldn't touch him, he was bummed. Shortly after, he said not to get your hopes crushed because he was probably going to KU. That's all I'm saying. I know and trust my source. But I'm sure you do yours, too. Not worth debating now.
Fair enough, many of us have heard different things....but we can all agree Biefeldt would be here if Fred hadn't jacked us around and we would be in a much better spot with likely 3-4 more wins minimum.....

Now, onto Dembele

Now Beifeldt being here , I concur. Yes...on to Dembele. Have no inside info on him with Prohm's staff now on board. Either him, a big time juco post defender, or a gift wrapped grad transfer would be welcomed.

If we get him it'll be because he's really not that good. Sorry for being negative but tired of seeing us get excited about a big just to see him go to KU or Kentucky.

We don't need him to be Anthony Davis. He just needs to be solid, like Cato or Homan. Hell I'd take Jiri Hubalek.

Because quality basketball players never choose to play somewhere other than UK or KU...

Arkansas coming around now too.
247 ranks him 151, curious with his late rise of attention would give him a nice bump if a update happened. The attention he is getting this past month would seem to indicate it very possible.

Spring signees are often more coveted than their ranking would indicate. Supply & demand.

It happens every year around this time. Previously unknown seniors surface out of the blue and generate a buzz. Often times, these late-bloomers are a bit over-recruited and weren't previously well-known for good reason. Could Cheickna Dembele be breaking that mold?
A native of Mali who Rivals.com watched at the 2014 Adidas Nations in Los Angeles, the 6-foot-9 Dembele has surfaced at the Scotland (Pa.) Performance Institute and he's developed quite a buzz over the last month.
Since word got out that he was available and looking to play college ball in the States, Dembele has gotten offers from N.C. State, Missouri, Iowa State, St. Joseph's, St. John's, Providence and La Salle to name a few, while Alabama, Arkansas, Maryland and Charlotte have been in touch or through to take a look.
Dembele is definitely a high-major level athlete and he has some scoring tools around the rim. His jump shot is workable and for a guy that is just bursting onto the scene he looks like he could be a legitimately viable option for those programs looking for help along the frontline.
