I don't think he would be this quick to transfer if it wasn't for Hoiberg telling him he had to go. If everything works out for him he will get a second chance somewhere else.

Although I think there will be a little melting down, why should we?

It's sucks that he will be gone because he was starting to become a beloved cyclone for his hard work and basicly for sticking around for 4 years when few others had under Mcderrmot.

But the truth is he was going to be a senior anyways and he "allegedly" made a big mistake by his actions. Now we will have a chance to build this program from a clean slate and Hoiberg won't have that decision hanging over his head to start his tenure here.

I wonder what would the meltdown look like if GMac was still here...

Does anyone know if FH has sat down with every player on the team to meet with them individually?

With the rapidity of this it would appear to me that he did this and maybe had already identified some issues that made this a pretty easy and quick decision.

Well.... sounds like a good decision all around... Plus it lowers the little expectations we had for next year. Another scholarship opens up...

there is no way that he hasn't sat down with each player by now

This is the right thing to do. If you really thought that he was going to be in an ISU uniform next season after this incident, you are crazy in your head. CB gave everything to ISU and his decision to leave the team is based on a tremendous error on his part and he manned up to that. This falls on no one but himself. From all accounts, short of what just happened, CB is a solid kid. It sucks it came to this, but it was obviously the right decision. Good luck in the future, Booz.

Just a bad deal all the way around. I hope the woman is O.K. and I hope CB gets better and I hope this situation is a learning experience for the program.

Honestly, it sounds like this decision was for Charles more than it was for the integrity of the program.

Do you have inside information or is this just based on the press release? Because in case you haven't noticed lately, there is generally more under the surface of these press releases.

Not trying to be harsh, but just saying.

Technically not a transfer. He is leaving for treatment and then I am sure he will try to find a place to play elsewhere. If what is said is found to be true he should have received the boot. Remember we give all kinds of crap to EIU for legal issues and then when it hits our fan we tend to forget how we responded to the same problems.

No, they handle these situations VERY different in IC. If this were Adrian Claiborn, then Boozer would go to court, but the court date would be moved back until a few weeks after the season is over, so Boozer would still be playing this year for the Clones... just like Claiborn did for Iowa last year.

Obviously there is a lot more to the story that we will probably never know.

Sounds a little like it may have been a mutual decision.

I hope he gets whatever help he needs and can get things straightened out. He always seemed like a good kid, and he always seemed to give his best effort. He was one player that I think really did want to be here. I hate to see him go, but it sounds like it is the best thing for all concerned. Wish him luck.
