Charles Boozer To Transfer

Holy cow. That came out of nowhere. I wish him the best, both personally and in his basketball life.

Sounds like Coach will be unlikely to put up with any questionable behavior. I don't know if we could have expected a better result than that, especially given the timing. Freddie needs to establish a tone, and it looks like he just did.

Hope Charles gets it straightened out wherever he ends up.

With the limited information that has come out, this seems like the best option for all parties involved.

It's good to see that Boozer recognizes his actions and a deeper problem and seems to want to address them. Also, it is very encouraging to see Hoiberg's swift action and low tolerance for this sort of behavior.

Sounds like Hoiberg woulda kicked him off the team anyways.

It sounds like there is more behind the scenes with Boozer's life that we do not know, which is more important to fix than playing basketball.

Sad to hear but I hope he gets the help he needs. I believe this is the best option for the team and for him if there truly is more to this problem.

Since everyone on here threw him under the bus from the start, he figured he might as well just transfer.

Time for another CF meltdown?

Although I think there will be a little melting down, why should we?

It's sucks that he will be gone because he was starting to become a beloved cyclone for his hard work and basicly for sticking around for 4 years when few others had under Mcderrmot.

But the truth is he was going to be a senior anyways and he "allegedly" made a big mistake by his actions. Now we will have a chance to build this program from a clean slate and Hoiberg won't have that decision hanging over his head to start his tenure here.

So if he transferring to a different college or just leaving college all toghether?

Technically not a transfer. He is leaving for treatment and then I am sure he will try to find a place to play elsewhere. If what is said is found to be true he should have received the boot. Remember we give all kinds of crap to EIU for legal issues and then when it hits our fan we tend to forget how we responded to the same problems.
