I always find the 'team x just wanted it more' to be obnoxious. Saying one team put forth more effort is reasonable, but to act like either team didn't want to win is dumb.
yeah I agree. I think most of these people either
A)Are Confusing effort with focus. I think the team lost focus at times today(And their other head scratching losses), which led to the rebounding disparity, lost sight of passing lanes, turned it over at a high clip, etc. Effort? Nah, they play their ***** off, just not in the correct ways sometimes.
B)Think that effort and a can-do attitude can solve everything! Just try harder! (Lol)
If anything I think this team might have been trying too hard to meet expectations set from the fans, media, and even themselves. One of Hoiberg's comments pre-tourney was that he was trying to tell the guys to relax, and just play their best game possible, and enjoy the ride. Sometimes it's almost as if guys like Georges and Naz are trying too hard to put the entire team on their back, which results in botched plays and trying to force the ball when they shouldn't.
Gonna be a long offseason but hopefully this festers in a good way and motivates them to improve like hell.
