My boss is a tavern squawk. He says Randy is a huge Iowa State homer. I just laughed, told him probably a majority of the ISU fans find him to be Iowa bias. And then Trump won. Thanks Randy Pete...
I guess I'll be the one to say I really appreciate Randy and all the guys who talk ISU sports. Merry Christmas to all.
I just hope Lard makes it to campus and gets enrolled. That still seems to be pretty uncertain.
Idk why people keep saying this... when everything we've heard says otherwise.
Because the exact same things were said when he committed, when he signed, before fall classes started, etc...
From this point going forward anytime someone says anything about any recruit I'm going to say "I just hope he gets onto campus and gets enrolled."
To be fair, the Lard recruiting story hasn't been typical so assuming an atypical ending isn't far-fetched.
Well, Lard retweeted Randy Pete's article. Take that for what it's worth. I'd link, but I'm old and don't know how to, to be honest.
I hope Lard red shirts this year. I'm sure he's talented, but I have a hard time believing he'd come in at this point and get up to speed fast enough in conference play for it to be worthwhile.
Since we're posting hopes, I hope he plays 2nd semester giving this team an inside presence to challenge for the big XII title. Becomes a 20/10 guy next season leading that team to a final 4.then gets drafted after next season as a lottery pick and puts Prohm in position to pillage the southeast for countless top recruits.
It's pretty obvious watching this years Cyclone team we could use a rim protector and Lard looks the part.
The uncertainty at this point stems from:
1. How quickly the NCAA Clearinghouse approves Lard's transcript.
2. When Lard can begin practicing. IMO if he isn't at practice today, he isn't playing this year.
3. Is he ready to play 15-20mpg? If not, he should redshirt.
4. With his academic background, is his academic success at ISU enhanced by practicing with the team, but not going on road trips.

Non medical and academic redshirts are almost pointless and overrated in today's college basketball.
I'm not against redshirts, but redshirting Lard prioritizes 2020-21. We're not in a position to do that.
If he is able to play at a level near Holden's he should see a lot of playing time next semester.
If he can help the team win this year he'll play. That being said I bet he redshirts and it won't be because of talent
