Caleb Grill has entered the portal and committed to Mizzou

I have no idea. I'm honestly wondering if its supplements/HGH/roids. It's dart against the wall.

His first transfer, I was kind of mad at ISU because I assumed we didn't treat his hand injury all that well. Now I'm second guessing that.
Dart on the wall, or him posting gaining like 14 lbs of lean mass in one month?

There's not a means or product on the market that can do that other than those that f with your hormones.

The kid needs some guidance, and I'm going to root for him even though I dislike Mizzou. He gave a lot to ISU, loves ISU, f'ed up but was gracious on the way out.

Regardless of what he might have going on, he still has to own accountability for what he's done and what he does moving forward.

Their fan support is pathetic. Minnesotans intentionally eschew college sports as a way to look down their noses at all their neighbors. Wisconsin has pro sports too, and that doesn’t draw support away from the Badgers.
I think this is a poor analogy.

Wisky is in Madison which is 2.5 hours from Green Bay where their NFL team is and 2 hours from Milwaukee where their NBA and MLB teams are. Wisconsin doesn't have an NHL, MLS or WNBA team.

The Goofers are in the Twin Cities which is where Minnesota's NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS and WNBA teams are.

I'm not a Goofers apologist, but it is not comparing apples to apples.

Give him one more year and then let's circle back to Isaac Asuma in the portal.

In all seriousness, Minnesota had actually looked much improved until that 20 point meltdown. That stings. They have to at least be competitive this year.

The 'hire the star alumni as coach' thing has gone pretty sideways in quite a few spots.

Has that always been a thing?

Unusual comments by coach Gates. Even if there was some sort of plan for Grill to get a technical, I don't think it's a good look to say what he said.

I don't think there's been a player I can remember who's been more difficult as a fan to understand what's going on. Otz clearly chose his words when talking about Grill very carefully sometimes and then this Gates soundbite is weird. Whether he needs help, needs to mature, or is just misunderstood, all I can say is I wish him the best.

Didn't it happen right in front of the Mizzou bench? The coaches and players probably did get fired up a bit if they felt the Double T was undeserved.

I thought Grill made some bonehead plays last year, but I also thought the refs were sometimes quick to T him up. I'm sure he developed a reputation, and that reputation probably followed him to Mizzou.

REALLY bad play by the stripe here.. That is a foul..

Also, CG still looks like he needs help
Yeah and it seems strange that the ref looks like he is about ready to let it go if Grill doesn't say anything else but instead seems to get set off by Grill shutting up and walking away. Just strange all around.

The (small) Minnesota fan base was aware of his reputation when he got booted.

Listening again, I may have misinterpreted coach's quotes of "I didn't want to pick up a tech" and "Caleb gave us a spark by getting ejected." At first I thought he was implying that he didn't want a tech on himself personally so wanted Caleb to get one.

But now I see he may have meant that he didn't want the team to pick up a tech but it happens sometimes when you are playing hard in the heat of the battle (and feels it probably was undeserved without saying that).

It looked and still looks to n that the defender groin taps Caleb with his trail heel.

Had to have said something to warrant the first T, then the second was butting egos and the stripe has the whistle and the power and Caleb’s rep has removed any benefit of the doubt he had.

Overly not too concerned as it wasn’t as bad as melt downs last year.

His physique raises questions and haircut doesn’t evoke a sense of, “I’m grateful for things I’ve learned and trying to get well” as much as someone that could go on a bender.

He’s young though. Hope it all works out for him.

Is it possible that Caleb has just always been a hot head who doesn't like hearing hard truths about himself? He has transferred 3 times in his career now. Erratic behavior on the court, lord only know what else off the court. Eventually you gotta take a look in the mirror and face the facts. I know he has brought up his own battles with mental health, but I also think it is possible, if not likely, he has a short fuse.

And again.

The defender barely touched him and he clearly flopped. There was contact but it was minimal and did not affect the shot at all. Maybe a foul by the letter of the law, but I would be white hot pissed if they called that on an ISU defender for 3 free throws.
