Caleb Grill has entered the portal and committed to Mizzou

Incredible that Minnesota sucks so consistently in both football and basketball for so long as the only major university in their state and with a huge metro area of talent to pull from.
Their fan support is pathetic. Minnesotans intentionally eschew college sports as a way to look down their noses at all their neighbors. Wisconsin has pro sports too, and that doesn’t draw support away from the Badgers.

My Minny friends are clear Minny hockey is #1 people, then move onto the pro sports.

I thought the initial T was a flop tech based on the refs signal, but I don't know if that counts as a player discipline technical or not
Yeah, after watching again a few times, I think the no-call was correct. The defender did hit Grill's leg, but it was flailed out. So it was a good no call. Then he got the T for complaining about it. I still think the second T was soft as the ref walked into his space and the contact was unintentional. Unless he said something else.

That was an impressive comeback by Mizzou.

Minnesota sucks. They blew a 97.8% win expectation.

Mizzou got clowned by Memphis in Columbia the second game of the season. The Tiger have some work to do if they want to play themselves back into NCAA tournament contention.

Good schedule, though... still have to play Pitt, Wichita State, Kansas (in Lawrence!), Seton Hall, and Illinois. Why can't we have a fun non-conference schedule like that sort of setup?

:)

Grill isn't exactly on fire down there. He's 4/20 (20%) from three so far.

We all know he's streaky but that's bad. An ORTG of 100.9 isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

He was closer to 105-110 during his second stint in Ames.
It seems like the refs did MO a favor by booting Grill

Grill's season (& future?) will continue to be of interest to Cyclone fans because,
compared to others in the "former Cyclones at other schools" threads, his story is so tied to Iowa State. I'm guessing this thread will also get bumped if he scores 25 in a win over Kentucky. As I said in another thread, I wish he had just walked away from competitive basketball, addressed his mental health, and gotten on with his life.

Kansas recruits iowa and they get Hinrich, Collison, and Lefrentz. ISU recruits Kansas and gets a mental case. Go figure. He is a perfect representative of that miserable state.

"mental case" ? Dude is battling things we couldn't see nor understand last year. When he left, he was very gracious and took the high road. I will always root for him. Mental health issues are no joke. Trust me.

Yeah, becuase Iowa is so much better.

At least down there they aren't afraid to elect their head of state based on credentials and ethics instead of blindly voting along party lines for terrible candidates.

Jere........if anyone or anything in Kansas thinks like you then it deserves all the ridicule it gets.

As somebody that would far exceed the requirements to be a "mental case" based on this thread, I have a very low tolerance for calling out, talking down to, or bashing somebody for their mental health battles. Those issues are every much as real as cancer, tumors, MS, etc. While they might not seem like a big deal if you don't have those mental health issues yourself, that doesn't make them any less real.

Please keep the thread either supportive or on-topic of his game/play.

Yeah these things are totally related.

Anybody want to take a guess on what's going on with him instead of calling him a mental case?

I don't know what happened but he looks like when my 5 year old gets extremely frustrated and can't control their emotions.

I have no idea. I'm honestly wondering if its supplements/HGH/roids. It's dart against the wall.

His first transfer, I was kind of mad at ISU because I assumed we didn't treat his hand injury all that well. Now I'm second guessing that.
