Bubu Appealing

Bubu averaged less then a turnover (.8) and 1.4 assists per game last season at 12.5 mins per game. 24 assist to 14 turnovers. 89 to 60 in his career.

You do realize those numbers are terrible for a PG, especially one playing in an offensive system that produced the 4th highest scoring average and 16th in assists throughout the entire county.

By the end of the season he wasn't even allowed to handle the ball. Every time he came in to give some rest for Lucious, Clyburn got pigeon holed into taking over ball handling duties.

We relied on him being a heavy contributing member of the team for the last 2 years. Your definition of rational is flawed. When Fred says that Bubu has a great shot at starting point guard for us next year, that means more than your silly statements.

We heard all about how much speed and talent the football team had this last off-season as well. Bubu as a starter tells me we are going to have a disappointing hoops season. I think he got a bad deal in all of this, but I don't think it matters much as far as what we do this season.

These decisions should NOT be based on whether or not a person is "useful". Does your comment indicate that you would be on the other side if it was Niang, or Ejim?

Yes, because I live in the real world, not some make believe land of waterfalls and rainbows where everything is fair.

Would you all be more realistic about Bubu's basketball abilities if he wasn't a walkon from Ames with a cute nickname?

His assist-to-turnover ratio was 1.75. Lucious's was 1.70. Clyburn's was 0.81

Was it his -23 +/- that lead you to this statement or the fact that he's a PG who can't handle the ball?

Hold your ground Leath.

< this. In big games we lost leads with him in there. especially in the 2012 NCAA's. UConn and Kentucky scored in huge bunches immediately after he went in. bad effect on the team. Don't understand the love for this guy

Even if ISU had Michael Jordan, the punishment should be exactly the same for all athletes. The university is bigger than 1 person.

Does that somehow make Bubu's numbers magically better? When Bad Korie reared his head he was absolutely terrible with turnovers and Clyburn isn't a PG. Not to mention that Bubu wasn't allowed to handle the damn ball (probably because his go to move was to dribble directly into the defenders chest and fall down), it's such a ridiculously small sample size that it's completely worthless.

That's cute. Insanely naive with a hint of holier than thou ******** and an over used blanket statement that really has no actual meaning of worth, but cute.

I love the people that think losing a 5th year senior that averaged 12 minutes a game (all in conference play) and replacing him with no one is a good thing for this team.
Uh, playing someone with actual talent for those 12 minutes instead is a good thing...
More minutes for Monte or Kane=good

Not sure how anyone could honestly say they want bubu to play extended minutes. He's a terrible ball handler and doesn't need to be guarded from 15 feet out.

Show me where I have said anything about his basketball abilities.

I forgot, I do like how Bubu can get calls/free throws like no other. His one skill.

did Bubu steal your girl or what? You sound pretty mad about this.

Man you're pissy today, and your arguments terrible. You don't think he shouldn't appeal/have his removal overturned because of what he might have done to the girl, or what's in his best interest, but because you don't think he's any good. wow

Huh? So instead of coming up with a witty response to a little snark you went with the teenage level internet deflection device of 'u mad'. That is pretty poor.
I'm legitimately trying to wonder why you hate Bubu so much. That's about the only reason I can think of. I'm glad you aren't Hoiberg, if your star player gets in trouble you would be that coach that would blame it on a ****** player just so your star player could play in the next game. That's not how it works.

I remember Scotty hitting a three early in the 2nd half vs Kentucky in 2012---to TIE THE GAME

For some reason Fred immediately subbed him out for Bubu, and Kentucky completely destroyed us the second Bubu went in--- like a 17-0 run

Same thing with the game prior. luckily we were leading Uconn by so many points we were able to win anyway

I luv Fred, but he ain't perfect

I don't hate the kid, hell I don't know the kid. I just think he's a bad basketball player, you should really stop escalating what I've typed.

You're damn right I'd be that coach and this might be a huge shocker to you, but that would make me like pretty much every other coach out there. Hoiberg will do what it takes to win, even if that means stripping away the scholarship of a player who had already signed an LOI just so he could give it to someone else and I applaud him for doing it. It takes a cut throat mentality to compete and keep your lucrative job at the highest levels of collegiate athletics.
