Bowl Situation Thread

The Big East needs to lose its non-aq status - then big 12 would have 2 in for sure!

AQs may be going away before too long anyways. Hooray to the big 10 getting 2 spots from now til forever. And the SEC getting 3.

Hopefully this year they finally close the hole and bar non-champions from competing in the title, especially against their own conference.

I've never been a proponent of playoffs, but if we're going to ignore the theory of 'the regular season is a playoff' and allow a title game rematch with a non-champion, we might as well go to a playoff because we're ignoring the regular season anyways.

Yeah, I totally agree. I am sick of the pimping that goes on during a season and especially at the end. I would love a playoff with only conference champions, no at large to be honest. Everything is clear then.

So make it top 14 then

They won't make the non AQ the same as an atlarge because that would hurt the atlarge because of the rule of only 2 teams per conference being selected its possiable that the SEC may have 5 teams in the top 14

Seeing on Twitter they might delay Harris poll until BCS selection show. Guess they don't want to spoil the "surprise".

I like that idea, I want it to be released with no leaks - makes it fun to watch TV instead of twitter

They will for another year before the BCS agreement comes up again

they better adjust that. how can anyone justify giving an automatic BCS bid to the winner of a 5 team conference? And that conf is awful. The winner could be something like 5-7.

Those are 2 separate things entirely.

Id kinda like to see a Baylor vs Georgia Cotton, Texas vs Washington Alamo and Oklahoma vs Ohio State insight. non likely to happen but I can hope right?

I have a spreadsheet going. I will be able to list the BCS results based only on the human polls within minutes of Harris Poll being released.

What about the human factor in the bowl choices? What if a bowl jumps someone like they did with Missouri two years ago?
