Bowl Situation Thread

Don't really like the sounds of that at all. I'm starting to think the Big 12 won't get 2 in. I hope I'm dead wrong.

The country LOVES the SEC and B1G conferences.
We can still get two in even if Okie St isn't in the NC. It all matters if TCU gets in the top 16. If they do they are automatically in the BCS.

From the Register (not much, but...):

“It could be Texas, it could be Baylor, it could be Oklahoma, it could be Missouri, it could be Iowa State,â€￾ said Mark Neville, a Holiday Bowl spokesman. “Iowa State has always been a school we’ve looked at very favorably. If this is the year, I’m not sure.â€￾

IMO - Holiday has been waiting years to get a different school there... Due to them dropping down in the pecking order, this might be the year to get there.

CR to Vegas leaving dec 26th coming back dec 30 is 450 round trip

Yeah, but after costs of the 6 hour drive thatd almost be a wash.

Dont know what i'm doing yet for travel. May fly, may drive a group. Doing that as a drive though depends on having at least one or two people who can stand doing really long stretches of driving without going insane.

I have a spreadsheet going. I will be able to list the BCS results based only on the human polls within minutes of Harris Poll being released.

BCS rules top non AQ champ if ranked in top 16 and ahead of BCS conference champ they get in. TCU may not get to top 16 but if they do they are in
This. That is the rule. They will be ranked ahead of a BCS conf champ- WV. So if they are in top 16, it's probably at large for us.

my current assessment - If KSU and OSU are in BCS, ISU goes to san diego

If only OSU is in BCS, ISU goes at large

Sounds to me like Mizzou a lock for pinstripe either way.

I wonder why they came up with top 16. Top 10 makes sense (5 bowls, 10 spots, if a non AQ team is in the top 10 they can get a spot), but top 16 forces the bowls to take a team over several more qualified ones.

You may be right on that one. And that may be why word was coming out of mizzou that theyre headed to pinstripe, because they know that's their destination either way.
