Bowie suspended

Carter needs some pom poms. He rocks on the bench.
Not to mention the "issues" KU is having with a number of their players that are leading to suspensions yet they are still performing.
Disappointed Bowie won't be available due to attitude issues, though I am I'm not surprise a grad transfer who is having them. In my opinion his struggles really started in the first KU game thus wasn't expecting his turnaround on Saturday. Him missing the early layups on Big Monday really sent him into his funk.
Possible silver lining is McKay and sitting Holden allowed for a reset and when they returned were playing there roles so Bowie could respond.
People get all upset about a player potentially pouting on the bench or even not being happy enough when their teammates have success on the floor but when you have a player who puts his whole heart into supporting the team from the bench because he's not seeing the floor - much like our rabid Hilton Coliseum fans, I might add - people find it necessary to make fun of him. If a player is contributing in practice to make the team better and is by all accounts a good teammate and super supportive on the bench he deserves at least a little bit of respect.
Geesh. I'm relatively certain that the majority of P5 programs have issues just like these on a regular basis. Anyone who isn't starting is going to be pissy about it. Sometimes guys aren't happy until they get their 20 every night. And yes, kids are still kids, and they'll go to bars and other places they shouldn't be.
No coach is 100% sure of what he's getting in a player until they interact for awhile. What I like about Prohm is that he isn't afraid to call them out, discipline them, and give the others a good example. Holden suffered for a bit, then went to Prohm and cleared the air, and ever since has been a different player. (Someone who can, I have no doubt, make a difference down the road.) Not every coach will sacrifice the good of their W-L record for the good of the person involved.

Definitely...and he is most likely going to have a tourney team in his first two years. However, this is still largely a Hoiberg put together team, so lets give the guy a few years before we start comparing him to McDermott.
I can play this weekend if we are looking for someone to replace the 0 points and 5 turnovers and 2 fouls.

Losing to UAB in the first round of the NCAA as your last game is hardly the "top of the mountain". And it's much harder to maintain excellence than failure.
The twisting on both sides in this thread to make a point is ridiculous. What was the seed of that ISU team that year? And what percentile would that put them in?
We'd rather have accountability than someone who knows how to get the most out of players here at Iowa State.
Glad to see CSP reeling in these guys. He has trusted this senior dominated team, but they haven't rewarded him for it. Poor decisions, inconsistent effort, and apparent selfishness make it necessary to make changes. Time to right this ship. Nothing should be given. Everything should be earned.
