Big 12 all star team

Why should I argue with you when your mind is already made up? Plus, you're the smartest guy in the room anyway.
You don't have to be smart to read stats and watch games. I can be convinced to change my stance; I don't care either way. Just support your argument for Wade over Evans for Big 12 FOY with something more than "he's in a far better place". Wade's 17 and 7 was a nice game vs. OU, I agree. Maybe you missed the 42, 7 and 6 than Evans hung on Oklahoma earlier in the year?

DPOY will be interesting. Usually it goes to somebody who leads in a statistical category, like blocked shots or steals.
As opposed to somebody like Iwundu, who defends the opposing teams best player. ie Withey winning over Babb

This year's statistical leaders:
Morris and Medford lead in steals
Lattin & Ibeh in blocks
Rico leads in rebounding

McKay won the award last season, and I would guess he won't win it again this season, but interestingly enough, he's the only one in the top 5 for rebounds and blocked shots.

Lattin makes me very nervous...the way he blocks shots (arm straight out, elbow locked, windmill swing downward) I keep thinking he's going to break some poor shooter's collarbone before the end of the season.

Self or Huggins will win coy. Shaka has made Texas relevant, but they're still 5th or 6th, same as they've always been.

I dunno who will win dpoy, but hard to give it to a guy on an irrelevant team. Only way would be if he steps up and plays as good as he did against Oklahoma on Saturday vs ku, and kst gets the win.

If Self wins it, will be bs. They guy was supposed to have the deepest team in the nation and has far more higher ranked players with veterans. With all that, just one game above WVU in conference. Huggs should win it imo.

So you only get to win Coach of the Year if you suck at recruiting?!?

44, how many four and five star guys on the current Ku roster?

Don't start this argument, it's dumb.

Ku has the most talent, so what? They continually navigate the brutal double round robin of the Big 12. They may suck in March, but that's not what the big 12 coy award is about.

How would Bruce Weber do with ku's roster?

If it was simply about 4/5 star guys, why were both ISU and Oklahoma ranked higher than Kansas pre-season? You still have to coach these guys. Duke has been out of the top 25, Kentucky struggling, etc. Self does an amazing job year-in and year-out getting getting his teams to play.

Our starting center is LANDEN LUCAS and our two starting guards originally committed to Towson State and Appalachian State. Matt Thomas was ranked 20 spots above Frank Mason and 40 spots above Monte Morris him in the Class of 2013. Assuming that the number of stars a guy gets in his HS recruit rankings mean much is just dumb.

And guys like Mason and Graham typically only get elevated to their end rankings BECAUSE they signed with Kansas. No one in their right mind thinks that Devonte Graham would be ranked #35 in his class had he stayed committed to Appalachian State.

No one said Self is a bad coach so that argument is dumb.
Before conference play, all we heard was how deep and amazing KU was. Pundits were saying it's his most talented team to date and it looks like every other KU team. Tons of talent that slightly underachieves opposed to dominate like a few uK squads in recent years have with similar buzz and credentials. Huggs team has overachievered quite a bit imo and deserves it more. Maybe If KU wins out I would reconsider.

It's not dumb otherwise Calipari and self wouldn't offer every top 40 player each year. You are smarter than this tuco.
Do we really need to post every teams recruiting profiles to see the obvious advantage KU has? Arguing KU has the same talent as other teams is ********

It's ridiculous to base it all on preseason expectations, the assumption being that those that define the preseason expectations for a squad are great at doing their job. At what point do people realize that most of those predictions are simply blind stabs in the dark? People have no clue how new players or freshmen will play and how players will improve. West Virginia "overachieving" is as much a factor of people just incorrectly assuming they wouldn't be very good without Staten as any extra awesome coaching job by Huggins. Judge it on who has done the best overall job putting together their roster and coaching their team.

Niang is a lock for first team, Morris will get left off because of how low we are going to finish in B12 standings...but the reason we're finishing low is that after Morris and Niang at any given time we only have 2-3 other players producing.

Watching this league I have absolutely zero doubt that Buddy, Niang and Morris are the 3 best players. Ellis probably easily #4 for me. Then #5 I could see a ton of different guys getting the nod.

What a shame we have two of top players and we play .500 ball. The role player recruiting and taking medical problems killed the support.

Are you going to answer the question, 44? How many 4 and 5 star guys on the current Ku roster?

Those two are definitely among the top offensive players. They are the main reason ISU is the most efficient offensive team in the conference. But they also play a part in ISU being one of the worst defensive teams in the Big 12.
