Barnes

All of these articles are presuming that UNC/Duke lead simply on the basis of the second to none red carpet attention HB is getting. The opinions are not coming from HB. Who wouldn't be impressed with MJ and NCAA championship ring ceremonies. HB did not sign this Fall because he likes the whirlwind attention and is mature enough to handle it. He is also a unique enough individual to be driven by college decision factors ultimately other than meeting Michael Jordan. Harrison is not your everyday #1 recruit. He still could go to UNC/Duke but I put no weight into what those two schools can roll out to impress him in regards to ceremonies or dignataries. I see the goal of the NBA, the quality of education and being comfortable in his surroundings as the primary drivers.

Whereever he goes, he's a top 20 pick in the NBA after his freshman year.

My wife was a music major and knew his mother. She said she's one of the nicest, most genuine people that she has ever met, and "deserves to get to retire and enjoy life" for what she's put in to her work.

I think his upbringing is great, and whatever decision he makes, he obviously did for what's best for him and his family. I would LOVE to have him at ISU, but it's nice to see good people succeed wherever they are at or from.

Oh, where have all the business school references gone? Semed to be such a good feel good story.

I really bought into that one from the start.

Rhoads and McDermott are scheming to allow Barnes to play flanker for the Iowa game as an inducement to join the Cyclones.

I have it on good authority that indeed UNC has passed up Duke....

for 2nd place.

Before anyone asks...I don't know anything.

I've said this whole time UNC is the best place to enhance his pro status. He'll average a ton of points in their offense and you can't deny UNC's record of getting players to the NBA.

Roy's system is built around PG's and big men. Who are the wings that he has put in the NBA? Paul Pierce like 12 years ago and who else? Marvin Williams I guess and Danny Green was a 2nd round pick, but other then that I can't think of a wing off the top of my head. Duke's system, on the other hand, goes out of its way to feature wings. Duke has Grant Hill, Luol Deng, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Corey Magette, Shane Battier, Dahntay Jones, and most recently Gerald Henderson in the NBA. Out of those 7, 6 were lottery picks.

Now I think Barnes is a top 3 pick out of any University, but if he wants to be featured in college then Duke is the better place for him than Carolina.

BTW, his full visit schedule is out:

UNC (already happened)
OU- October 2nd
UCLA- October 9th
Kansas- October 16th
Duke- October 23rd
ISU- November 6th

He is visiting on a Friday and that day ISU has a exhibition game so he will be able to check out the team that day....
