Barnes

You'd actually be surprised. Most of the other schools already have shooting guards signed or already playing. Most schools are recruiting him as a SF.

All the SG's they have signed are not as good as HB is. That and there isn't much of a difference in a lot of these teams offense between a 2 and 3.

Barnes is tired of the recruitment and wants it to be done before his senior season. No more or less

I think that is what it comes down to in the end. He can either stay and be the star player at a school like ours, or be a good player at a school that wins championships. For me(as much as it hurts to say this) the choice seems easy.

yep, being "hey, remember that guy..." for a team with a dozen banners in the rafters seems pretty paltry in comparison to a life time of being adored by a dedicated fan base.

You guys are acting like he won't be the best player on Duke's team. Like he will struggle to start from day one or something. Top ranked recruits go to college and are immediately top 20 players or better in college basketball.

He wants to be a shooting guard in college. That's part of the reason we're still in this. Because we're offering that.

Roy Williams would pimp out his daughter to get a player... I am sure he will do about anything to get HB, including letting him play SG.

HAHA!! It might be true is some situations, this could be one of them.

If you knew Roy toy though you might change your opinion. I'm not saying that I know him well but he lived next to some of my family while he was coach at KU so was around him many times while growing up. He is actually a stand up guy with a midwest disposition but he loves his team and seems to have a short fuse when it comes to BB.

Roy's a grade A fraud, but I don't want to get into that because that isn't what this thread is about.

The 2/3 thing is meaningless for a variety of reasons. First of all, as has been said, at most places there is very little difference between the 2 and the 3. Offensively, there is no difference at all at most places. And defensively, the 3 tends to be the bigger guy and the guy who is better on the boards, which would be Barnes at any of his possibly 6 destinations.

Realistically, he isn't going to play the 2 at Duke (even though K doesn't label positions) because they have Dawkins, Curry, Smith and the need for a SF. He isn't going to play the 2 at UNC because they have Strickland, McDonald, Bullock, and the need for a SF. He isn't going to play the 2 at Kansas because they have Taylor, Johnson, and the need for a SF. Harrison understands all that, he's an extremely bright kid.
