Babb to Celtics

I really think Chris can stick as a solid role player.

I agree and I think the way he carries himself will go a long way. Team first guy, high bball IQ and a solid interview are some nice intangibles when it comes to ranking out as a role player.

I bet if he can just get on a team for a year he'd be able to stick around for a while and bounce around to teams needing a solid backup defense/3-pt/good team mate type guy.

Always seems like there's a number of guys like that in the league who probably aren't better than a lot of other guys but keep sticking around just cause they are already there and other teams can trust that they can do the job. Kind of like how it's easier to get a job if you're already employed.

Which, I guess, is exactly what it's like.

I believe around $27,200.

10 days is 1/18th of the 180-day season. Rookie minimum is $490,180. 1/18th of $490,180 is $27,232.

I could be wrong on the number of days in an NBA season for salary purposes, though. I read somewhere else the number is 170, which would make a rookie minimum 10 day contract worth $28,834. Either way, not too shabby.

I read some where a 10 day is $34,200 (iirc) per collective bargaining agreement.

5 points, 5 rebounds and 0 turnovers in 24 minutes for Chris tonight! Aside from the box score, I know nothing, but hopefully he was also effective on defense. A great first impression nonetheless.

Just thought I would add, his +/- (maybe someone can explain this stat to me) was +4. The only Celtic with significant playing time with a "+"

He was only 1 of 4 from 3, but otherwise that is a great line! 24 minutes is amazing!! Hopefully his shooting will heat up...if so he could stick in the league for sure.

Theres a lot of luck involved for guys not picked in the first round to stick in the league. Look at guys like Gary Neal or Danny Green and how much they bounced around. Have to find the right place at the right time.

Looks like Babb got 12 minutes+ in each of the last two wins and was +7 and +11 in those games. Hope he sticks!

Hoops rumors said that he should get another 10 days. Brad stevens had some good stuff to say about him too.

Coach Brad Stevens said he hopes the club continues the relationship with another contract. Stevens also said, “He’s a perfect fit for what we need as far as, he’s not going to play 38 minutes a game — he’s going to come in, get open shots, hopefully knock those open shots down, play off of other people, and then be a feisty defender for us. He really is an outstanding defender for a young guy.
