A Crane has arrived!!

Cant be too far off. The backing is almost done on the cross-piece, the floor on the 3rd level is almost done, on the video it looks like we've got 2 cranes out there in the parking lot (hard to tell with the trees), and it looks like they made a gravel base for the crane on the west side today, so it must be soon. Would guess theyre not going to have that kind of equipment sitting around unused for much longer than necessary.
Sure someone with more experience in this kind of thing would know more.

The erection is imminent for both the sign and hundreds of cyclone fans.
I know boblyon said the 29th above, and it sounds right to me. It seems like they're being conservative and might be able to sneak it in Monday or Tuesday though.
I know it had been mentioned somewhere at one point they'd have to have the wind be below a certain speed when they put it up.. if that's true, an exact day may be a bit hard to pin down, especially a week in advance.
Hmm, very interesting that the Grove arrived as one unit, while I'm guessing the Liebherr arrived as 3 separate pieces. I can understand taking the boom off, but taking the house off the carrier? That seems kind of odd.
Anyways a week out sounds about right. They've probably got 2 days worth of work to get the cranes completely assembled and down in the final positions (including building that second pad on the east side). I'd bet that getting the rigs into final positions will resemble the austin powers golf cart scene due to the limited space down there and the fact that those cranes are huge. Thankfully they've got all wheel steering to help them.
Another full day to set and bolt the east tower and a day for float/weather/unknowns puts us them at lifting next wednesday. I'm guessing they'll test pick on Tuesday just to double check the final weight and make sure everything will go like they planned.
Wind speed is an issue for any lift, but especially with something with that much surface area and weight I bet they don't pick above 10-15 mph. I know down here we start paying a lot more attention to the wind at 20mph and at 30mph we shut all the rigs down.

You are correct on the bolded part. I drove by last night and that crane was in 3 pieces with the boom and the house sitting on flatbed semi trailers.
I don't think there is much chance of sneaking anything in when you are dealing with an erection this large.
