The thing that really irks me about Fran being behind this is that the University lets him act like an absolute lunatic in a very public position and no one does anything about it. He is a man paid millions of dollars funded by the State of Iowa and he yells, cusses, slams chairs, etc. No repercussions.

Fran has been suspended in the past and has zero technical fouls this year that I can remember.

Wow. I don't think Dolph had any intent or awareness of saying something even remotely offensive. But given the situation as it stands, this abomination is absolutely offensive, inappropriate, and just a terrible terrible idea.

Doubling down like this to defend a questionable comment is basically saying "yeah I DID mean it that way, but since we can pretend I didn't, it's OK, right buddy?"

Ok fine, he tossed a chair in 2012 and nothing happened. The ejection in the Wisconsin game where he made contact with an official, where he was suspended a game by the Big 10 but nothing from the University. Coming onto the court against Maryland last year and getting ejected.

There have been mentions that Dolph will no longer call basketball games, but still do football. That doesn't make any sense unless they admit the issue was with Fran.
