***2023 PGA Tour Thread***

Rory got raked over the coals for 2 years defending the PGA Tour just for this to happen - there is 0 chance he is a happy camper this morning.
He also promised the top players would all play in more events to increase fan interest in the PGA, then withdrew from several events soon after...

He admitted as much that the stress of being the poster boy for the PGA Tour vs evil LIV Golf took a toll on his mental health, and the fact that he missed out on hundreds of millions of dollars, I'd say it's not ideal even while still being a multimillionaire who plays golf for a living.

What's the scenario Rory does better in? I get the mental health impact but the money was a forgone conclusion for the PGA guys from the moment they decided to stay, not something this agreement created.

The big name players on the PGA Tour need to boycott…. and not play in any tournaments IMO. This is total BS.

I don’t understand why the PGA Tour caved? Did they think they were going to lose the lawsuit?

Reads to me like the Saudis got bored and basically wanted to sell out. They've got international soccer players to buy out these days. PGA sees a win-win, since they're still getting tons of money pushed in from them, while also getting out of the legal issues before anything really came of them.

He goes to LIV, makes half a billion dollars or more, and then ends up getting back in the PGA Tour anyways without having to suck Monahan's **** for 2 years?

Two things:

1) They wanted no part of the discovery process if the lawsuits went to trial.

2) $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It was only two I think, and they're allowed to miss one, it wasn't a good look at the time though.

I’m 100% done with professional golf. As a lifelong fan, the integrity of the game has just gotten worse and worse over time, consorting with awful people just to have bigger and bigger corporate sponsorships, culminating with the LIV blood money split. Now, the PGA Tour makes the most hypocritical move in the history of the game and throws all their players under the bus, just for money. Yet another institution seemingly content with abandoning any sort of values for $$. It’s disgusting. Hoping there are more people who feel the same as the only thing that will hurt this trend is viewership and attendance declining, but I really doubt that will be the case (unfortunately).

Life goes on, I will find other ways to spend my time, but it is sad as following the game has been a big part of my life and is something I’ve been able to share with my dad.

I think Jay has to go full Vince McMahon Montreal Screwjob and give each of the guys that passed up money one free swing at him.
