2023 CyHawk

Coming from an Iowa fan…. the above question is priceless!

Maybe you should ask BF…. or Petras?
Was just a weird stat line. That is all. As an Iowa fan I am used to some weird stat line, but that one by Kohl really jumped out.

Iowa's rival board is a special special place.

To be fair, I think you could point to similar messages here as well regarding their opening game.

Neither team looked like world beaters on offense against ****** defenses, neither made big plays over the top, both have a ton of inexperience at key positions, both are going to lean on their defense for field position and controlling the clock, and special teams will play a critical role.

Cade is an above average QB but doesn't have a good enough line or dynamic enough receivers to give him much of a deep threat. Same could be said of Becht/ISU.

Both teams showed signs of being able to run the ball, but not nearly at a Big 12 or Big 10 East level (the West sucks so discounting it).

I think it's fair to say that it's going to come down to turnovers, penalties, and special teams - so basically like every Iowa vs Iowa State game ever. Good news is last year's game was likely the ugliest display of football at any level in the past 50 years, so this year can only be better than that.

This is the typical Hawk fan. When Iowa intercepts a pass, it is great defense. When ISU intercepts a pass, it is a horrible throw by the quarterback. When Iowa makes a great punt return, it is great special teams effort. When ISU makes a great punt return, the other team was horrible in their punt coverage.

Not sure where the idiot came up with didn't get any pressure on the UNI quarterback until "the very last minutes of the game".

Probably was too busy trying to mate with his turkey leg.

When is the Big 12/ ISU going to get a real TV network? The other conferences show their games but the Big 12 seems stuck in kissing the Longhorns behind mode.

And ISU's defense looked pretty good but we really don't know if UNI will really amount to much on O.

Can't comment on Iowa but their defense is typically pretty good.

According to a bunch of UNI (and Iowa) fans, UNI's offense is supposed to be legit and Theo Day is an NFL quarterback. I'm not going to say he's not because if he is, we just did a damn good job of negating his abilities.
