If the Big 12 or B1G move to a 10 game conference slate CyHawk will be done and I'm OK with it. Neither school will want to play the game if that becomes the case.

ISU would probably make it work..we seem content with 6 home games and going to random crap schools on the road. Iowa won't go less than 7 home games.
I meant it in comparison to what the $$ would be if they brought in someone similar like Pitt.
You could argue easily that the state benefits way more when ISU and Iowa both host home games on the same day.
That's an interesting thought and probably true. What about the media side of things though, which is where the real athletics revenue is made?
This still gets overstated/overvalued. Ames bars, restaurants, and hotels are all swamped on non Iowa games. Yes, a ton of people come to town for the game but that doesn't mean money is being spent. Most people are in and out without dropping a dime in Ames.
I also find it more likely that hotels and restaurants see more of a boost from an out of state school. Most people that go to the other stadium aren't sticking around
Wouldn’t more money come into the state with outside teams versus the two schools in state playing each other? Cyhawk is basically state money moving around and not that big amount from outside coming in.
It’s easily the worst week of the year.
2nd worst are the days leading up to the CyHawk MBB game.
JP had better get the entry into the game figured out this week or there could seriously be riots and fights going on Saturday. Everyone is already all fired up with hatred for one another…. you don’t need to light a match to it.
I would be curious to a response of why both universities continue to extend this series if more profit could be made with it cancelled. We all know money is front and center in almost all decisions.
The only reason the series continues to get extended is tradition.
Nothing. Walk right up about 5 min before kickoff with your paper ticket and you’ll be just fine.
ISU's 2 non con games every year might not be national title contenders.... but at least they will travel to their stadium and end up with 6 home games. The Hoks are too chicken-bleep to do that. This "the local businesses in IC need the extra game to stay in business" is quite laughable. Every college town can claim that.
The mandatory "7 home games" and never leaving the state in the non-con is a cash grab cop out.

Do NOT listen to this advice @iahawks . He is just messing with you. They don't allow printing tickets out any more, just digital. Pro tip, take a screen capture of your ticket. Thats all you should need and seems to work much better that way. Showing up 5 minutes early will be cutting it close but you should be good.
I honestly hadn’t seen that. That’s inexcusable. I hope that there were repercussions.
