***2023-24 MLB Off-Season Thread***

Shohei Ohtani Day gonna make Bobby Bonilla Day look like getting a $20 in a birthday card.

It's ridiculous baseball continues these huge contracts. They never pay off. He needs to stick to one thing. Doing both is just asking for major injury issues which he has already had in the recent past.

SERIOUSLY!!!! JUST ONE F***ING TIME CAN A BIG NAME SUPERSTAR FREE AGENT NOT SIGN WITH THE DODGERS, OR AT LEAST STAY THE F*** OUT OF OUR DIVISION IF THEY ARE NOT GONNA SIGN WITH AZ?!?!!!?!!!!

It's always either the f***ing Dodgers, Padres, or Giants.

Every. F***ing. Time.

And what do they ALL have in common?! F***ing NL West.

F*** my life.
The Giants? What? It’s always the Dodgers, Mets, and Yankees.

Getting real tired of the Dodgers. Might as well have them and the Yankees play each other and let the rest of us have fun.
****, you act like the Yankees have accomplished anything in the last 10+ years.

Also, MLB ownership is mostly garbage with too many teams that don't spend enough to stay competitive.

The Cubs are the Yankees of the National League!

That's what Ricketts said when they rolled out the Marquee Network.

They need a salary floor more than anything. I hate cheap owners. Some teams don’t even care if they are competitive or not.

"Ohtani agreed to defer all but $2 million of his annual salary — $68 million of his $70 million per year — until after the completion of the contract. The deferred money is to be paid out without interest from 2034 to 2043."

I'm a Dodger hater but I have no issue with this. Just means one more superstar can be added to their roster, but they're also going to be losing $46 MM to the CBT once Ohtani leaves, which tells me they should be unreal the next 10 years, but probably really struggling the following 10.
