2023-2024 MBB computer projections thread

If you take out all of the games we’ve won, the numbers start to get me worried and concerned.

I'd like to see three point percentages/running off the line in the 2nd half vs. 1st.

Seems like the 2nd half has been better in that regard most of the season.

Every team has weaknesses and perimeter defense might be a lesser issue than lane/post issues that imo makes a team helpless.
Agreed. OSU got a lot of good looks early, then we clamped down for the most part. Seemed like we were a step slow the first 10 minutes of that game.

KUs depth is pathetic but they have an awesome starting nucleus of Dickinson, Adams (one of my favorite Big 12 players), McCullar (maybe the front runner for MIP in the Big 12) and Harris. They've shown they can win a LOT of games with just that. But if one of those guys goes down they are toast. Their bench is awful and the other wing spot had been problematic with Jackson struggling.

It's probably the worst depth I've seen at KU under Self. It's a 4 horse team but those horses are extremely good (Harris being the weakest of the bunch).
Kinda like those Fred teams. The starting 5 were a chef's kiss but after that. Blah.

The 2014-15 team begs to differ. Six NBA players, plus Hogue and McKay.

I agree on some level, that was Hoiberg's deepest team by far, but let's not forget that Thomas and Nader didn't really break out until the next season. In 14/15, both of them averaged fewer than 6 points a game, with Nader at 41% from the field (22% from three) and Thomas only at 33% from three. If anyone at that point said those two would play in the NBA, I imagine they would have been laughed at.

It also wasn't deep in a complimentary sense. Morris was about the only one that could handle point for example.

That was a good but weird team all season.
