2023-2024 MBB computer projections thread

I could see both being a bit higher than that, especially the men, with all the losses over the last week.
Might not want to get your hopes up too high as one of the commentators mentioned this weekend: (paraphrasing) when everybody looses, nobody looses, and according to votes we were 38th in votes in the last AP

It also wasn't deep in a complimentary sense. Morris was about the only one that could handle point for example.

That was a good but weird team all season.

I can't remember the last time we had a half-decent backup PG.

We've had some great starters... but almost nothing off the bench for that role, some guy who can take the point 10 minutes per game while the main guy rests and play another 10 off the ball.

Gilbert and Jiggy Curt are better than the options the past few years, but I still hold my breath whenever Tamin isn't on the court. Everything on both ends just seems to go so much better with him out there.

Senior Kane (maybe more a SG)/freshman Monté maybe?

Bubu?

Monté/sophomore Nick (don't remember him being used at as PG more a F that year)?

Nick/freshman Haliburton (again TH was mostly an off-ball SG that year)

I'm perfectly comfortable with our guard rotation. Yes, we're always going to be better with Tamin on the court, as he is one of the best point guards in the country, but the combination of Gilbert/Jones/Pav fill in for him pretty darn well IMO.

I was going to suggest Stinson-Blalock as viable PG backup combo, but that wouldn't qualify as "off-the-bench" situation.

Not a back up since they were starters but one thing about the 99-00 team was how interchangeable they could be with Horton and Nurse to handle pg duties.

haven't looked at this site yet this year but found it interesting that 5 bracketoligists didn't have us making the field as of 1/12

Many don't start updating more than once weekly until February.

Right now our resume says 8/9 seed but our NET and analytics says 3 seed. The answer is probably in the middle.

What are the ranking predictions for tomorrow? I know we were like 29 or 30 this week.

We were 38 last week.

My guess is #23 this week.

Colorado St, Clemson, Gonzaga, and Texas will drop out. Marquette will drop to the top 25 edge.

Dayton, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Iowa State should slide in.
