That's gutting out a win.
It sounds like they dodged a bullet on buxton too.
Twins were down 4-3 in the 9th and have tied it up! bases loaded with 2 outs. Getting a walk-off here would be huge and would keep the momentum going.
EDIT: And we have a hit by pitch walk off win!! I'll take it.
I love how three guys immediately come here and post after a day game. Means at least three people are watching.
Good teams find ways to win games like these...Twins were down 4-3 in the 9th and have tied it up! bases loaded with 2 outs. Getting a walk-off here would be huge and would keep the momentum going.

How so?
Heard the first ESPN 'expert' last night taking the Twins for the second wild card. And it was the smartest guy in the business, IMO,-Aaron Boone.
Not exactly a bold choice since the Twins are currently that 2nd wildcard.![]()
They've been there for quite some time and none of the talking heads have been taking the Twins. It's been all Angels for the most part.
Big game tonight - Gibson needs to get them back on track. That weekend series in KC was brutal. Hopefully they can beat up on the Padres for a few days.
The Angels are the only legitimate team chasing them. Nobody would have picked the Twins to be where they are but that's not an excuse to pick against them now. Baltimore had their little run to try and get into the race and are now falling back. Texas can homer but has awful pitching. And KC is KC and sub .500.
Angels, maybe but they have injuries and over half of their remaining games are against 1st place teams. Twins do have six tough road games but that is like half of what the Angels have. Schedule will matter. Hell, I am a Yank fans and them having a bunch of the remaining games at home is a plus at this point. Irma moving the Tampa games to NY at Citi Field is almost like another three home games.
The twins became the first team ever to hit homeruns in 7 straight innings last night.
