Paul Clark wanting Loney and not Fulmer. THAT is hilarious...and sad.
My take is that is based on a desire to have access to "inside" information - something that he didn't have with Chizik and likely won't have with other outside candidates.

Head Coach with a National Title on his resume. Nuff said

Ok Debbie Downer
After wasting a few work days, and riding this rollercoaster, I can officially say I want a coach announced soon. My production level can't handle this.
Rivals recruiting rankings over the last eight years for Tennessee:
2009 - 21
2008 - 35
2007 - 3
2006 - 23
2005 - 4
2004 - 11
2003 - 18
2002 - 2
Sure, his 2009 recruiting class would be great for us, but it does look like his recruiting has tapered off a bit lately.
I'm not so sure he would be a "no-brainer", but we definitely should take a close look at him, if he is indeed interested.
The fact is that any candidate that we will be able to hire will have some red flags. The red flags for Fulmer seem to be smaller than for the other candidates, IMO.
All of this talk about Fulmer sure has ended the speculation about Skip Holtz.
no kidding..I haven't been productive at all and I am starting to have dreams about the coaching search.
the last thing I want is to be dreaming of sweaty Fulmer.
If Fulmer wants the job.....it is his to have.
Simple as that.
He is just saying dispite his record he has a horrible track record with the NCAA, and he thinks that it is a slap in the face to Johnny Majors for some reason, where I think if anything Johnny is maybe recruiting him a bit on our behalf. He goes on to say it would be a bad hire and he is a bad candiate to even consider.
