    Ames High/Iowa State should ink a deal

    The AHS game is not inked yet and there is talk that it might fall thru as a result of some detail tied to the Waukeegan team. Hope they can get it under contract. It would be great fun for the AHS team and supporters.

    Small school basketball players

    Against Ames High 2 weeks ago, Barnes did play, in the Hoover summer league, some kid from Ankeny Christian torched Ames for 40+. I can only imagine this is the kid that is being referred to here. Not big, but just kept backing up to shoot.

    MB won the tournament. Three MB players selected All Tournament. Doug McDermott named MVP. Dykstra and young Marcus Paige also on all tourney. Kind of impressive for a "role player." I am a huge Dougie fan.

    So who will have more influence on young Mr. Jok. His Roosevelt HS coach who is a native Iowan and ISU alum and former player...or his AAU coach who is an ISU alum and former player? Who would we "want" to have more influence if he is to be the next HB?

    Yes, but. The Spring AAU tournaments that we are talking about are not Sat/Sun affairs and are a short distance away from a very few players. They usually are 3-4 day events and kids miss school to play and travel. There can be no question that Spring AAU tournaments take away from any focus...

    Ames v Dowling: 3 yr Sr starter Jesse Pritchard did not play due to illness and the other AHS guards couldn't throw the ball in the ocean that night.
