WBB: General All-NCAA Thread - Not Team Cyclones Stuff

When new polls come out there will only be three ranked Big 12 teams. Obviously TCU and WVU will drop out. No one else was even in the "receiving votes". Wonder if we might get a couple votes now? Couple road wins in conference, even if not against good teams, should give us some sort of bump.

Some games of interest coming up this week. At least my games of interest other than ISU's.
  • Oklahoma at #12 KSU, Wednesday. Will see if sooners are any good versus ranked team that plays real defense.
  • #10 Texas at #10 KSU, Saturday.
  • #14 Indiana at #3 Iowa, Saturday. Hawks will need their A-game to win this. Hoosiers are rolling.
  • #8 Stanford at #5 Colorado, Sunday. PAC12 TV
  • #2 UCLA at #9 USC, Sunday. Boo hiss! PAC 12 TV, should be a national game.

I watched LSU vs Ole Miss yesterday and Hailey Van Lith took a beating. There were three times I saw her bounce off an Ole Miss Player and go flying to the floor. LSU with Williams, Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Van Lith looked no better than unranked Ole Miss for much of the game. That was until late in the fourth when LSU took a 14-2 run to put the game away 84-73.

LSU is not polished and their talent could fall to a better "team" of lower talent. I was one of many who raised their eyebrows with all the talent LSU had coming in. But even with that the track back to a championship game does not look certain. I have yet to watch UCLA though in some of their highlights they appear challenging to SC and Iowa and are so ranked in the number two spot.

Meet the new poll, same as the old poll.

#4 Baylor. Moved up 2 stops
#10 Texas. No change
#12 Kansas State. Dropped one spot.
#24 WVU. Stayed at #24.No change. Thought they would drop out. No drop at all after getting smoked at home by 20 by a team adjusting to playing without their star PG?

TCU still getting a few votes but with Prince out now they won't after this week.

If we beat WVU we could start getting some votes.

Wow. Michigan State is getting really screwed by the refs. Two easy and obvious charges went against MSU in the course of around one minute. A block against Maryland was called a charge on MSU and erased a three from the corner. Third foul on the MSU player passing on the drive. Than a charge on Maryland was called a travel and it would have been the third foul on Maryland. Just awful calls. Not even close, even at game speed. Maryland still gets the "elite" team calls, even on the road in the Big Ten.

And Brenda with her feet on the playing court with the trapped Michigan State player so close she could have reached out and touched her. Bad enough to be screaming in the kids ear but her feet were even over the line. WTF, ref?

Tonight you may be jumping back and forth between ISU MBB and WBB Gophers VS. Mich.

About time to flip back to ISU. There can't be but a couple hundred people in the stands at Michigan. Looked spared but they just gave me pan shot and there's nobody there. Woof.

The Gophers did well...does Czinano play much for the Golden Gophers?

Like #7 or #8 off the bench.

Mara Braun needs to get to the line more often. Guess that's hard since she's mostly an outside shooter but she's now 47 of 50 for the year.

Raegan Pebley goes from 14-45 in her last two seasons at TCU, to the GM of the LA Sparks.

Damn that's a surprise.

I don't care who wins the natty as long as it is not Iowa. I despise Bluder and am tired of Clark and all the fawning Iowa media. We would never hear the end of it in state.
