F*CK IOWA

Unfortunately not the way it works though..
Well if you listen to the national media talking about Alabama. "They are not the same team that Texas beat in week 2. They are much better now and it's probable that Alabama would beat Texas now." < literally CBS, Yahoo, ESPN, Fox, 247 Sports, everyone is saying that.
Why not apply that logic to ISU

I agree. I think both teams are about equal. Which is why I think if the schedules were reversed, ISU would be 9-10 wins and Iowa would be 7-8 wins. I think most of us can agree on that
I agree with that.

Do Hawkeyes really not think it was advantageous to play ISU in week 2 after we lost our starting QB, RB, TE, and OL to gambling?
According to ISU Footballs director of personnel, we played 32 freshman over 4771 snaps this fall.

We were an incredibly young team that was learning to play together.

I don't see anyway that ISU would not beat Iowa if the game was played today, especially after Iowa losing Cade, Lachey, All, and Dejean. I just want Iowa fans to admit that as of right now, today, ISU is the better team.
It would undoubtedly be a close cometitive game with a ton of punts but you dont see anyway isu wouldn't beat Iowa serioulsy?

Yeahhhh I mean that's still not how it works lol. That's why there needs to be a playoff. That game was played and Texas won. As much as I hate standing up for Texas, they did their job there.

Do ISU fans not think it was advantageous to play OSU at a time when they had a team mutiny going on?

You can only play your schedule. ISU beat OSU and Iowa beat ISU. It is what it is.

What makes you think that Iowa State will move the ball on Iowa? Unless you have elite talent, not many teams move it very well on them.

They moved the ball on Iowa and dropped a pass in the end zone in the first half, then handed it off on the 4th and short instead of keeping it to wide side.

Iowa's better, has a good defense, but ISU did move the ball and had a chance late.

Good on you for actually posting in the ISR forums, benji.

We actually got OSU when they started settling that. If you remember, they played 3 quarterbacks every game until the ISU game. When they listened to the team and started their current starting qb and never turned back.

Oh I know. I agree they did their job beating Alabama in their own house. I don't like seeing TexA$$ get screwed like this, even though I hate them.

I like some of the Hawk posters in here, they actually seem to be realistic unlike on twitter.
If I had a dollar every time I saw a Hawk fan say that the BIG12 is no better than the MAC, I'd be a very wealthy man.

The lead up that whole week was how many OK St. players were going to quit. Like you said, they had just started to settle some of that. We will never know what would have happened if everything was already settled and they played two weeks later.

It is what it is and ISU beat OSU the day they were scheduled to play. Same for Texas and Bama. I would give Texas the nod over Bama if they both win this weekend especially since it was on Bama's home field and Texas beat them quite convincingly in the fourth quarter of that game.

Two weeks later they would've came on Jack Trice night and you don't win on Jack Trice night.

Not sure if ISU is better than Iowa. Also not sure if Iowa is better than Minnesota.
The ISU game ended being the third least competitive P5 game Iowa played. PSU, Rutgers then ISU. It was over at halftime.

You mean the game where ISU had the ball down one score in the 4th quarter? That's your definition of "over at halftime"?

I can agree with that assessment. The one thing I will disagree is Iowa won't be one of the top 3-4 teams in the new big 10 with Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Washington, and USC, unless Iowa somehow gets yet another favorable schedule draw down the road
Favorable draws won’t exist anymore in the Big Ten. They’re pretty much guaranteed to get at least two of those teams every year.

Ehh, I wouldn't say that. Iowa has a bit of an unfair advantage compared to all the other BIG10 teams. They have Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota as guaranteed games. Some seasons you could get Michigan, UCLA, Indiana, Rutgers, MSU. I'd call that a favorable draw

This sounds like how Iowa won most of their games this season, hmmmmm
Yeah, I do have to remember who we're talking to here. B1G west fans have no clue what the modern era of football is like. Like talking to a caveman about avionics. It's incomprehensible to them in many ways. I'm sure a 7 point win does feel like a monumental blowout.
