F*CK IOWA

The schedule was indeed poor and the big 10 west was indeed bad, yet Iowa had 5 conference games that Iowa was tied or trailed late in the 4th quarter in which they won. That's over half their games. Iowa got absolutely smoked in the one conference game against a "difficult" opponent. What do you think that tells us about the Iowa team this year?
ISU lost to Ohio and Iowa and got smoked by Oklahoma. What does that say about ISU this year?

If you are saying Iowa is terrible, then ISU is worse than terrible. I don't believe either of those to be true.

Probably even money I think. Iowa states likihood of a conference championship which would be an Automatic bid is much higher but they'll have a much less chance at an at large. Big Ten is probably getting 3-4 teams in most years and big 12 will probably be 1-2
I can agree with that assessment. The one thing I will disagree is Iowa won't be one of the top 3-4 teams in the new big 10 with Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Washington, and USC, unless Iowa somehow gets yet another favorable schedule draw down the road

ISU lost to Ohio primarily because key players were vomiting during the game. When you get a stomach bug, are you throwing on football equipment and try to play a game, or are you on the couch trying to stay hydrated/rehydrate? I believe I have mentioned this once or twice to you....

Yes, ISU played poorly against OU. That was early in the season with a very young team still trying to learn on the fly. The team certainly has played much better as the season has progressed. Yet Iowa hasn't seen any progression. They continually struggle against inferior teams, as showcased by the final game of the season.

I would be willing to bet that Iowa wouldn't be able to use the same "the team was sick" excuse being rolled out by you if the roles were reversed. ISU fans would be laughing at Iowa fans for using such an excuse.

Also, Iowa lost their best players as the season went on and ISU didn't. I wonder how ISU would have fared if they lost Becht, Tampa, Breymer and Noel for a large part of the season. I'm also not convinced that ISU wouldn't have "struggled" against Nebraska, Illinois, NW, Minny and Rutgers.

Idk. Those programs you listed at the end there all kind of remind me of Baylor, who we played our worst game against (besides Ohio) and still won by 2 scores.

Yeah, you're right.... I mean why should we expect humans to perform at a high level when they are vomiting and dehydrated?

Iowa lost to Penn State WITH their best players. Iowa then struggled because they lack depth. If they had a competent back up QB, WR, TE, they wouldn't be struggling! ISU was in the same situation having to throw young backups into key roles this season. Those players got better over time. I never saw much improvement from Iowa's backups.

I think we have officially made a full circle. After all of this, I see you haven't understood a single thing. I should had expected that from the beginning.

Did Deacon improve at all? Maybe a little I think. Still a fat guy in a little jersey.

Iowa won 10 games and beat ISU in Ames (about as easy of a win they had all year). Not sure where you are getting this "struggled" stuff from. They won those games. You keep bringing up ifs and buts, which aren't reality.

Noel didn't play a snap vs. Ohio.

Iowa State should've beaten Ohio, regardless of the sickness that went through the team. Missed two field goals, one that essentially was a 50/50 call and would've sent the game to OT. Either way, we were not playing good football at that time and the results showed. If we'd have played that game a week later, we win. But the result was the result.

Iowa would've beaten Ohio at that time. Ohio is no doubt a solid MAC team this year but at that time, Iowa wouldn't have had the injuries they currently do. Would Iowa beat Ohio right now? That would be a better question, but again it doesn't matter since it's a hypothetical.

Iowa State's schedule was much harder than Iowa's. It's not even debatable. The Big 10 West was probably the worst it's ever been. The top 3 teams in the East absolutely destroyed their West opponents this year. Michigan, OSU & PSU won by an average margin of 29 points against the West.

I'm not even discussing the sick excuse. You lost.

Iowa state would of still been young regardless of the schedule they played. They wouldn't of been more experienced just by flipping schedules. I agree Iowa State did improve as season progressed but that doesn't mean they don't start 3-4 or something like that with Iowa's schedule in this fantasy land

They won 10 games in what you admitted was a poor schedule with a poor conference. Quite impressive to have to struggle to put away teams rated 50 and lower.

I think you just nailed it. Let me know when reality comes to Iowa fans
